Who's doubting the Flyers now?

This is to all the stupid fans that gave up on the Flyers 2 games into the season.

The Flyers are a decent team now. Who would've thought?

ater the 6th game it was pretty bad. However, they were only like 4 points of out 8th in the conference at that point. Thats not to bad for not winning a game all season. Lets just hope the flyers from the beginning of the season never show up ever again.

i won't lie, i was deeply concerned, especially after we lost parent and jones. the flyers are much better than the team they were at the start of the season, but realistically, i think they're playing over the heads right now. i hope i'm wrong, but i think the flyers will come back down to earth. no way the team can hold on to this pace.

San Jose is.....

I don't feel like we are playing over our heads at all. We are simply beating teams we should be beating. Until we crush San Jose or Detroit...i think we are exactly wear we should be. We are playing much better hockey the the Rags, so I think we'll continue to climb a bit higher.

i guess i'm just padding myself in the event of a fall. i've been disappointed too many times in the past, i suppose.

i'm not saying we're going to fall out of the playoffs. i'm expecting a finish somewhere between 4-6 in the east.

I think what your seeing is a combination of things. The Flyers are a better team than what they showed in the first 6 games of the season, that much is obvious.

The Rangers are falling back down to Earth and once teams make up the games in hand they will lose their division lead to one team or another. (By the way I'm pretty sure like half of their wins have been shootout wins....no shootout during the playoff boys!)

Once the Penguins get healthy, they will be a force to be reckoned with, especially if they do what I think they should have done a long time ago and package Staal, Letang, and a pick for a top tier winger like Gaborik or Kovalchuk.

The Devils are scary right now. They are learning to score goals, Elias and Gionta have come on strong, and they are doing it all without Brodeur.

All in all I think the Flyers' resurgence has been nice, but it's still too early to tell which one of these teams will finish first and which will finish fourth. Right now they all seem capable of ripping off a 7 or 8 game win streak to push out in front or drop 5 in a row and give themselves some catching up to do.

Ottawa was a decent team last year this time, too.

So was Detroit, whats your point?

We're going to finish 8th in the east because Ottawa fell apart last year?

No, more like getting too high, or too low at this time of the year is a waste of breath. Haven't even played half the season yet. Go on one of the Stevens 10 game specials and how good does this team look?

We've been on an extreme high run, there will be a valley. Lets hope it isn't extended.

I agree the I think Ottawa was more of a smoke screen than this team. This team has more depth than one stellar first line. I agree that they arent going to be playing the kind of hockey that sees them go 11-1-2 in month long stretches but 8-4-2 could be more realistic and of course at some point they will go into a strech where they might go 4-8-2 but for every losing stretch(the beginning of the year) a good team has, theres usually a solid run at some point as well(right now). Good teams go on nice runs and then have rough times, they are a good team. Great teams have great runs and play average other times, but rarely have a rough run. We'll see if they can be good or great the rest of tghe way. I say good, most likely 4th in the east.

There's no point getting too worked up, I agree. But I do think that the team (and we) should be hungry for every point, always. No "it's a long season" BS.

Don't get up too high yet guys. It's nice that we're playing well right now, but remember we were also first in the conference at all-star break last year, and well, we all know what happened after that.

They are finding ways to win which is great. But they have to improve their five on five play if they want another deep playoff run. The game yesterday was a step in the right direction, there were shifts where they spent minutes in the Penguins' zone and Hartnell's goal was a direct result of hard work and good puck movement.

At some point they are going to level out a bit, special teams is going to hit a wall sooner or later.

Well, BeamMeUpshall, you know me well enough to know that I thought I shouldve cashed in the chips in the beginning of the season hoping to get Tavares or Hedman. And damn did things turn around real quick on that one. I was thinking it was going to be another 06-07 season and I wouldve blown my brains out. But something happened to our young guns and they learned how to play hockey as a team with chemistry that is no thanks to the baker himself, John Stevens. With Briere out I think they found the right amount of pressure they need to build off of to sustain this type of gameplay.

Just knocked on wood.

We've played slightly over 1/3 of the season. I can't see how you can call anyone out for being "stupid fans". There's legitimate concerns about the team.

Calling victory over 29 games of the season has about as much sense as calling it a failure over long losing streak.
