Ottawa-Toronto

Toskala, Stralman, and Antrapov For Foligno, 1st (SJ) and Gerber

Toskala gives Ottawa another option in net when Auld inevitably goes back to being inconsistent. Anton gives Ottawa another high ceiling defensive prospect who can move the puck. Where as Antropov gives them a seconday scorer who can help this year.

Foligno is the prospect that evens out the deal for the Leafs. The SJ first is more like a second I included it because I think that Burkie could package it later on to possibly move up. Gerber is the throw in for Cap purposes. Hes a UFA and the Leafs would obviously let him walk thus saving them cap room for next year or when Burkie inevitably makes his move. Anyways this is my first proposal and maybe I'm way off but I think its fair. Let me know what you think maybe a counter proposal.

Ottawa doesnt need goaltending help.

How about that package for Kaberle instead?

For Kaberle I would have to think about it I think... maybe if the Ottawa 1st was exchanges for Sj but then I think the deal is a ripoff for the leafs so I dont know.

1 Tdot doesnt get fair VALUE... BUT

i dont want Toskala when he has been worse than gerber

stralman has a bad attitude and finally, the Sens are NOT giving up Foligno NOR a 1st rounder especially in the state that we are in right now unless something GOOD is coming back

First off Ott would take this and run. Secondly, please provide a quote as to stralman having a bad attitude because I've never heard anything of the sort.

umm isnt this the same guy that was going back to sweden if he didnt make the leafs as he didnt want to play in the AHL?

and no the only thing that appeals to me is Antropov as we have better goaltending then what toskala could provide at this time.

but i dont want to give up a 1st AND our best forward prospect in Foligno

But switch SJ's pick with Ottawa's please. And the Leafs wouldn't need Gerber.

Stralman does not have a bad attitude. He's always been positive since he's been with the leafs.

And this is a terrible deal. Foligno is a third liner at best and Stralman is still projected to be a top 4 dmen. Why give him up for ottawa's uber trash?

i agree you the leafs get boned but this trade makes no sense for Ottawa since Toskala isnt that great, Antropov is pretty good, and Stralman.. well we aready have Lee and Karlsson.....

Foligno does have 2nd line potential and i hope Murray uses that San Jose 1st to move up in the draft maybe into the top 5 if we couple it with our own high 1st rounder (that is if it is high).

Much rather draft a guy like Kane/ B. Schenn then settle for Antropov/Toskala when the future of Ottawa is still cloudy and rather not get a prospect who can flee back home at anytime

Why the heck would Toronto do this?

Foligno's not a great prospect, the SJ pick is bad and Gerber is worse than Toskala and almost as expensive.

However, the one reason I don't like it is that it improves the current team too much. I want to lose, I want a high pick.

I'd love Stralman though. Foligno + 2nd for Stralman?

Believe it or not Toskala has been i tihnk the worst starter in the league hell even a ton of backups have better numbers than him.

Gerber has been Brodeur compared to him

not a bad proposal. Might need some minor tweaking.

Ottawa doesn't need goaltending help but yet the Leafs are going to take back Gerber? Even worse is the fact the Leafs are dealing Kaberle.

If the Sens want Kaberle the Leafs are not taking back salary dumps especially goalies.

Foligno, Karlsson and Ottawa's first round pick are the most intriguing assets for the Leafs. I am not asking for all three in one package but more than likely two of them would have to be included to get Kaberle.

I wouldnt do the original from the Leafs POV ...you just managed to make it worse.

the 30th pick, a B prospect (3rd liner) and a 'backup' goalie is not worth much ...I wouldnt trade ANY of the Leas players requested for that package.

yes, but you're a Sens fan ...the Leafs on the other hand woulnt touch it.

I wouldn take Lee and a 2nd ...I'm one of Stralman's bigger supporters, and still say he will be better than Kaberle wihin 3 seasons.

I guess I like Nick Foligno more then alot of you. Anyways its cool I was just trying to make a deal I thought worked. I dont care about the Gerber part of the package I just thought hes a UFA anyways thats cap space. The SJ pick just lets the Leafs either pick a player or make a package with it later. Anyways I think you probably could get more I just want Foligno...
