Sundin as per Newsday article:

"I think the next couple weeks," Sundin said. "The way it feels right now, I'm going to play this year, and I'm just trying to get to the point where I'm ready to join a team. We'll see where it is. I haven't decided."

It might be in the article, theres a server error right now, but I thought I heard some where that he had to sign by the 15th for some particular reason. Maybe I'm making things up...anyone know about that?

Seriously, Ola is a very nice analytical guy with lots of knowlege. Dagoon is a funny guy that I find amusing. Him, Ola and Squishy make me smile a lot. The various degrees of opinions is what makes things fun around here

16pts something points in 30 games. Impressive. What did he do in last 20 games?

How is that (dead line trade) relevant to Rozies 5M for next 4-5 years?

That's your answer? What has Downie done in the last 20 games genius?

Better yet, if you could have your pick of the two, who are you taking?

I'm just letting you know the difference between the two contracts you two were discussing. I didn't even read the whole debate you were having.

I know Downie can score 5 points in 20 games. Tampa (mess) and Flyers (patience) do not have that kind of time.

D-sive mistakes your team makes including Dubinsky are outrageous. If not for Henrik NYR would be fighting for 8th spot.

Keep in mind your team was/is relatively healthy all season long…

Downies time will come.

Are we in the end of the season? Playoffs around the corner?

Teams give up anthing to improve and have a decent playoff run?

Is one year 4.5M same as 4 years 20M?

Rozsival can probably be moved but not for 1st round pick.

hmm, because you were saying 5 million a season was a ton of money for a defenseman. Foote isnt anywhere near the player he was before and yet there was a team that wanted him, i think its safe to say that rozsival has played well the past few seasons and has been getting better if you have been watching his play. He is a good defenseman already signed, there are teams who have problems signing players of his caliber.

Dude, Downie isn't very good. He has 1 point in 14 games. Last year, he had 12 points in 32 games. Dubinsky plays on a defensive minded team that has trouble scoring and still has 17 points in 33 games.

Well, that is right about his career pace. Whereas it's a slump for Dubinsky.

Yeah, the whole team has sucked. If you think that means that Downie is a more valuable player than Dubinsky then I'm gonna have to leave because it might make more sense trying to have a conversation with a potted plant.

Some teams may want to make the deal now instead of at the deadline so as to get the player more accustomed to the team and his teammates. Some teams may want him for down the road, such as next season and were persuing him in FA. Not all teams look for rentals at the deadline or before that because they are normally overpriced.

Watched almost every single NYR game.

Kalinin stinks, Rozie gets burned in every game. Take for instance last game against Canes. Stick lifted, goal scored, game tied. I am not going to get into the game against Devils.

I can't imagine him on a team with a another goalie.

Some may. I doubt a lot of teams will lined up to give up 1st round pick for Rozie.

I should have made myself more clear. I didn't read the debate you two were having because I don't care. I pointed out the minor difference you were each talking about because for some reason you couldn't comprehend that Viper was discussing a different contract.

Right, and what the **** has Downie EVER done?

All you do is troll our board and troll Rangers threads. Trust me, we all know your intentions and your role.

Here's hoping something shakes this team up before the Dec 19th roster freeze! God knows we need it.

LETS GO RANGERS

how about keeping it simple

Demote Korpikoski in favor of Dawes(.400 cap savings)
Trade Kalinin for a pick(save about 2.1 mill)
Trade Mara for a pick (save 1.9 mill)

w/ that 4.4 million in savings - 1/3 season thats passing= 2.8 M savings.....2.8m+1.3 cap cushion = 4.1 total
now Sign Sundin for about 3.5 pro-rated deal_+bonuses which double the contract.

now here's the 5 line mix

Voros---Dubinsky---Zherdev
Naslund-SUndin*assuming he's signing*--Sjostrom
Callahan-Gomez-Drury
Dawes-Betts--Prucha(for Offense)
D.Byers-Korpikoski-Fritsche

Staal--Rozival
Redden-Potter
Fahey*eventuallY*/M.Sauer----Girardi

2 goals and 1 assist in last ten but you could say the entire team has been sucking it up. He hasn't been great but I think you're vastly mistaken if you are indeed implying he is not that great. Mind you, his 17 points tie him with Vinny Prospal who gets to play with Lecavlier and St. Louis. Patrice Bergeron? Sure, he gets the concussion pass. Like the rest of the team, they all need to raise their level of play and could do better. We have higher expectations for them. That said, Downie? At this point, Downie has as much of a chance of surpassing Dubinsky as Lundmark had of being a NHL player. Or of Eric Fehr who after like 5 years in junior finally made it to the Caps roster. He may, he might not. Point being, if you're a crystal ball, I'm ****ing Mickey Mouse. Glad you like the player, but unless you are a closet pro-scout, let's not get carried away with who is gonna be the next coming of awesome.

I guess we'll see what will happen because I'm pretty sure Prucha and Fristche stay on the team if whatever trade the Rangers are probably working on doesn't go through. I doubt those two alone will be enough for the Rangers to get things done.
