Lapierre Appreciation!

I can't believe i haven't seen this thread yet! Lapierre has been the hardest working hab for at least two months now. He's great on the forecheck...he never seems to lose a battle...and he is awesome (with begin or kostopoulus) on the penalty kill....Congrats to lapierre

One of the guys who "got the message" Carbo sent earlier in the season. I just wish some of Max's teammates would do the same.............

I like the way he is playing as well - no way he sees Hamilton again in my opinion, let alone the pressbox.

I was very critical of him last season, but he's been one of our most consistent guys this season. Kudos to Maxim.

Boston Bruins = all work as hard as Max Lappiere, its that simply. The recipe to success is in the guys' work ethic, and right now if we worked half as hard as the Bruins we'd be first in the East. I'm starting to think that the guys are only going to wake up after the x-mas break and all-star game have gone by, when they realize that they got hockey to play and buisness to get down to if they don't wana be golfing after Round 1 of this years playoffs. Honestly thought, these guys are professionals I can't believe its that hard to understand that work ethic is the most important thing in a league where you play against the best, and its pretty much "survival of the fittest".

Back in the days, if all those cro-magnon caveman guys lived like the HABS are playin right now, some Mammoth would've ****ing eaten them up in two seconds. Instead of ganging up on it with spears and a good plan to attack it from all sides, Kovyanderthal would be running right up to to leaving his buddies behind and tried to deke through its legs and ****. Man, the HABS just gota get back to basics AKA play a good, solid, two-way team game, and things will fall into place... but obviously they just don't want to right now. Its as simple as that.

good for lapierre... but this is part of the problem. I find myself anxiously waiting for the 4th line to come on the ice way too much. What does that say about the other lines?

I love Lapierre... Honestly, he deserves every single bit of appreciation he gets. He's willing so much... He's always playing like if it was the last shift of his life. I wish Sergei and Latendresse would have got the message as well as Maxim did.

Slowly becoming one of my favorite Habs. If I have a choice to make between him and Chipchura, it's Max all the way.

Great job MadMax!

I agree...if bob can send one or both of these players to the minors without losing them then i'd do it just to give them a reality check...because u've gotta work hard to play in the NHL...let alone wearing the bleu blanc rouge

I agree. He was also pretty good at the start of the season. Then, he had 2-3 mediocre games and Carbo decides to scratch, but since he's back, he is definitely our best Centre and maybe our best forward. However, I don't like to see his line on the PP.

Damn it, he told me he gave it to his girl friend to soften up her thighs.

About Lapierre, I always liked this kid. A hard worker, didn't work the smartest when he first came up but he has improved that aspect of his game. I really think Carbo should kick Kosto up to the 3rd line and have Lats play with Begin and Lapierre for a dozen games. Those two will teach him how to play with intensity.

And i think carbo should start the game with his 4th line all the time. Set the tone for the game.

This is the way I want Tender to play. Lapierre must teach him.

It's funny because a lot of people got really pissed off a few weeks back when Laraque told Lapierre to concentrate on playing hockey... maybe Laraque should be coach.

He probably wondered what he did wrong to get sent out on a Montreal PP in front of angry fans

Yup, he's our new sniper - he's been the only goal scorer the last two games

I like him as well, reminds me of my game!

I've said it all along, the guy has the skills and intangibles to be one of the great 4th liners of the league...

In my opinion, he's already one of the premium energy players in the NHL. If he keeps on working as hard as he does right now, wow!

I see him as a great energy 3rd line/4th line (more 4th line) center who can get about 30 points in a great season while getting on the nerves of the other teams' star players (see Crosby).

He definately can hit 10-10-20 several times in his career.

To be short, I'd say mentally not ill Sean Avery with a little less talent.

You could be right. Over the last few games, he couldn't have been much better. If he stays consistent it will be great fun to watch him for years.

As for his ceiling, I think what we've seen over the last few games is it, and that's not a bad thing. Outstanding on the PK, forecheck, and in the corners. Great speed, a tenacious nature, and the ability to get under an opponents skin. His best quality though, is his ability to keep the play in the opponents zone. Good teams need players that can fill this role, and he could be becoming as good as anyone in the league at it. Production wise, 15g 40p a year would be a best case scenario in my opinion, and considering his role, that would be outstanding...
