This is quite a scoop for the fourth period - a team and it's own free agent talking about a new contract in the summer.

He's also been talking to the Nordiks of the WHA according to an article in French that I can't understand.

I would like to see a long term deal for him. He is still very young and probably has earned a pretty good contract. He could probable be a key center piece to a re tooling process.

Morrison is asking 3.25 Million. If the Canucks give it to him, I could see Gagne getting the same.

I can't see his agent accepting a long term deal. The most we will see will be 2 years, like the last deal. His agent knows Clarke gives good raises to good players, and they will want a piece of that every few years.

He should be able to get that amount, younger and more upside. I could see 3 years 12mill.

That is too high given his years in the league and production at this point.
Maybe you should GM the Rangers

You might be right, maybe 3yrs 10mill. 3mill first and second year, then 4mill the third.

Doesn't sound like anything much, but it's a definite possibility for Simon.
