Quoted for truth. I've been watching a lot of Kings games and I've been very impressed with Doughty. I'd say his offensive/defensive levels are similar to what Staal's were last year, but reversed.

I am a Renney fan for the most part, but why would you change anything from last night?

Hopefully the same Rangers that played last night show up tonight too. Is it too much to ask for back to back 60 minute efforts?

WHY? The Rangers aren't playing until Saturday...Henrik and the team as a whole played their most complete game in a long time last night...roll the same lineup...Why isn't Henrik playing? Doesn't make sense to me...

After tonight, he would have gotten two full days of rest...They are babying him too much because they probably have the "December slump" in the back of their minds, but Henrik has looked good the last two games

If this was march...no. But its december. Id rather let Valley get more starts this time of the season then crunch time...

It's not a question of March or now. March has nothing to do with it.

It's what Shake and Bake said...two days off afterward, then two days off after the San Jose game. Don't change a thing from last night.

It is to me. Id rather give Valley a start on a back to back agains the Kings in December...then say...a back to back vs Pittsburgh or Montreal in March.

One has absolutely nothing to do with the other.

Yes it does. If it keeps Hank more fresh for the playoff run...Im pretty sure thats a direct correlation to playing him in back to backs in december...More games before december=possibly more fatigue in march...I dont get how you dont comprehend the rationale.

Because it's moronic. They play one game in the next five days after tonight. Hank should be in goal.

Good move putting Vally in.

if the Rangers can somehow get 2 points out of this they have a rested Henrik going against a Shark team playing their 3rd game in 4 nights after traveling from Detroit.

That really shoudlnt matter though, considering that the Sharks are a sickeningly good team.

can't really understand renney starting valley either, hank just played 3 games in a row, and would have a pretty light schedule ahead after tonight...

well we should have the goaltending edge either way and with another full effort we will win no matter who is in net!

Its not moronic. This is why you have a backup goalie...

Whether Hank plays tonight or not will have no effect in April. Whether he plays back to back in March could have an effect. Not mid-December.

False, IMO.

Henrik had an emotional loss to Devils, played back to backs and won an extended game in the shootout, then travels 3000 miles to win another in Anahiem.

Can't dispute if he gets a rest here and goes at it against the best team in the NHL on Saturday.

Give him a night off physically and emotionally to get geared for Sharks and go from there.

Two days off with very little travel is enough rest.

Very little travel?

They just flew across the USA.

Thats not a one day thing to get used to. Check the records of all the west coast and east coast football teams when they travel cross country this season. Its not an easy thing to do for a team, especially for a guy with a lot that rides on his shoulders like Hank.

I dont think its a terrible decision.

Very little travel between LA and San Jose for the next game. Cannot compare to football. And except for the Jets, it seems like east coast teams are beating up west coast teams pretty good this year in the NFL anyway...even with the travel.

I don't think Vally should never play, and the second night of a back to back is not the worst idea ever. But after the way they played last night, I would not change a thing for tonight. If Hank played tonight, I think he'd still be good to go on Saturday night.

Why cant you compare? If anything..in football you have more preparation...fly out on thursday night for a game sunday...then leave. The Rangers played Saturday then flew out sunday. Then played tuesday and again wednesday. I think its smart to give Hank a mental health day before we play the best team in the NHL. Id rather him have more rest vs the best team in the NHL. This is a game we should still probably win, even with Valley in net.

I was excited to watch Lundqvist. I haven't been able to catch many Rags games at all this year, well except the 8-5 Devils game and a period of last night's game.

Good luck guys, should be a fun game if the Kigns play like they did against the Sharks.

I bet the Rangers feel all big and tough for beating Anaheim last night that they come out flat tonight and get their butts handed to them.
