I did get a chance to speak to Eklund directly on a phone conference call today which was listed on his site.....

I asked Eklund directly if Gainey was working on anything...he said that" Bob was putting in some SERIOUS enquiries about Jay and Shanahan".....

Take for what it's worth...

That was between 6--7 today...

Still nothing on all the "credible" sources.

But I heard it and the guy didn't say it like it was a rumour. He said it was a "nouvelle de dernière minute" (last minute info). Weird...

Bouwmeester

After all the Sundin and Hossa rumors, I don't get excited for any Habs rumors anymore...

The Hossa fiasco was true in that we know Gainey tried his hardest to get him. I wouldn;t doubt he is gunning hard for J-Bo, really isn't hard to believe at all.

Noun

Singular
shenanigan

Plural
shenanigans

shenanigan (plural shenanigans)

1. Trickery, games; skulduggery. To "call", "claim" or "declare" shenanigans is to rhetorically and ironically label something as officially deceitful, improper, or otherwise incorrect.

"The advertisement said it would cost $50 but they charged me $75 at the register. I declare shenanigans." The speaker passes off the statement as having some sort of implied official effect, but in reality, it is simply a complaint.

2. A deceitful confidence trick, or mischief causing discomfort or annoyance. Often the term is used in the plural: shenanigans. The word may have come from the Irish language, however in some regions, shenanigans can merely be harmless mischievous play, especially by children.

You should learn to spot their shenanigans and avoid being fooled.

It could be a three way deal.... detriot gets one of florida's goalies because people in detriot don't think osgood is good enough. They would probably get one of thier players as detriot can't possibly afford to keep everyone next year.
Habs get boumeester as said by OP.

I just don't see enough teams being sellers at this point in the season for us to rely on making a trade to turn things around.

Even though we as fans we deserve better, I'm fairly certain we won't make a move until after the no-movement period. I'm sort of curious as to how the team responds to Komisarek returning, with Koivu and Price set to return shortly thereafter. Give it three weeks.

Wasn't CKOI the first one to mention that the Habs traded their 1st rounder for Tanguay

Halak+O'Byrne+Higgins for J-Bo if he signs with MTL extended. I'd do it.

If he doesn't re-sign, they can keep him.

I not saying its true or not .... but if we were in the last few teams and lost out on Sundin .... and if its true its between only Rangers and Canucks ....its not out of the question that Gainey turns his attention to another high profile player.

J-Bo would solidify our D core. With the amount of talent we have up front, its only a matter of time before they wake up and start scoring.

FLA doesn't need Halak. Id be shocked if he was in a trade though w/ florida.

we already have two very capable netminders.

Yes they did, but he had solid numbers (Save%/GAA) last year. This year even with a 12-2-4 record, his numbers are brutal. I'm not saying he'll be traded, but it wouldn't surprise me if the Wings weren't looking for a better option.
