Time to go hard on Korneev.

Emelin looked like he's coming, Valentenko won't care if his family still thinks that 30% of what he's making right now is better than the AHL salary AND if they just want him close by, he's not going to come.

So we should concentrate on Korneev. Probably the best Russian prospect we have that looked like he'd be staying over there and still could. But the salary now might be a factor that could change his mind. No reason to concentrate on Emelin IF he would have come anyway.....

I'm a lot more interested in the return of Perezhogin than either Emelin or Valentenko coming over. (edit: ) or Korneev for that matter.

I couldn't understand to begin wtih how that league could pay out so much, considering some of the venues i am after seeing them play in don't look like it could hold much more then 1000 people.

Exactly. People get all excited over Tank and Emelin, but Korneev really impressed me at the worlds I saw. The thing was played in NA, so it says something that Korneev was there and Emelin was not.

I hope we bring all three back, don't get me wrong, but what do we really know from Emelin save McGuire thinking he's god? Korneev I've seen and like.

Oil money.

They didn't care. Every time your gas prices go down, the KHL gets closer to folding

Considering he loses 0% in taxes, as opposed to between 35%-50% that players in nhl cities lose, he's still no worse off financially over there.

That's assuming he gets his paycheck regularly, which is not a given in that league.

I hope Perezhogin plays for a division rival, we'll get about 3 PP's a game because of his hooking. Hopefully the PP is better than 29th by that time.

Unless he plays for Carolina.

Then we'll get two minutes for being hooked.

Yeah Korneev is the most important, then we go for Parait-Higgins, then i beleive that both Emelin and Valentenko are willing to come back even if the KHL wouldn't cut their salaries. Valentenko still want to be a Hab.

Gainey is gonna go bonkers next summer with all the choices he'll have to make.

(in no particular order)

Already in :

Markov-Komi
Hammer-Gorges

3 LH, 1 RH

(in no particular order)

The possibilities :

O'Byrne, Weber, Carle, Emelin, Valentenko, Korneev

4 RH, 2 LH

One of Weber, Korneev or Carle is gonna make it. O'Byrne is gonna get better with time.

Who of Valentenko and Emelin will be the most ready?

Gainey's gonna go

Korneev would be the perfect partner for Hamrlik. Not limited by natural ability like Gorges and not dumb like Brisebois and O'Byrne.

Now all the frustration I felt from Tuesday's game is coming back to me. I just wanna tar and lynch those refs, and Buttman, and the board of governors...

Why? This seems like an incredibly xenophobic opinion.

Don't the fans there deserve to see a high level of competition, particularly since a lot of the talent is home grown?

Or does that only apply for us here in Canada/US?
