They better not 'take a little break' after this one; there's a six game road trip coming up and I don't want to see another 0-3-3 stretch (or worse).

Good Lord... how DO you come up with these? I haven't heard that song in about 25 years!

I just want to play Flyer hockey. The habs like to stretch the ice. Do a bunch of fancy moves and finish with a bling behind the back pass. The Flyers just need to grind down low and bump bodies instead of trading odd man rushes.

...and Godzilla was suggested by Chumpy (I do believe).
I guess that would be greater if I actually knew what the hell that song was. Never heard it before in my life. I'm a youngin'.

I'm with you. Charlie can explain.

It has to do with being in love and the doctor's prescription is to be with that person.

It must have been a fairly obscure hit back then, because I've never heard it either, and I'm old enough to have heard it when it was out.

Gotta love the oh so creative title of the album: "The Carol Douglas Album". At least you know what you're getting, I guess.

And is it just me, or does she sing just a touch flat throughout the song?

And one more thing: The reason it wasn't a huge hit is quite simple. The chorus comes in at 1:02. That's 3 seconds too late. Any record mogul knows that if the chorus - or "hook" as they call it in "the biz" - comes any later than 0:59, the song sucks.

2008 -- April 28 -- In Game 3 in Philadelphia, Martin Biron's clutch goaltending and Philly's three second period goals sparked the Flyers to a 3-2 victory. Trailing 3-0 after two periods, the Habs yanked goalie Carey Price for Jaroslav Halak
He-he, this reminds me of sign man: "Who's Next?"

Well done, MSE. Like someone else said, I hope we get an early lead and keep it so I don't have to endure any "Ole Ole" chants/cheers or whatever it is you call that.

Let's Go Flyers!!

I'm almost certain the song was a top ten hit. I think she was related to Sam Cooke.

Saying this is a trap game is insulting to the Canadiens but who the **** cares. We need to show up and play on national TV.

Lets win this one for Salvatore "Chucky" Merlino, Nicky Scarfo's former friend and Underboss of the Philadelphia Mafia. Chucky was demoted due to an alcohal problem and embarrassing Scarfo in front of John Gotti and Vincent "The Chin" Gigante. Scarfo also wanted to kill Chucky, his brother Lawrence, his wife, and his son Joey. Chucky was sentenced to 35 years in prison in 1989.

Lets see if Nitty can have back to back solid starts

GO FLYERS

I was kind of hoping he would so they would have to shuffle their entire roster to fit him.

Save them tonight for when we need them buddy .
As if the Flyers even belong on the ice with the Habs, they'll probably have the entire starting lineup of the All Star Game on their roster

Yep, it was a hit. They played the heck out of it one summer when I was in junior high/early high school.

And according to Wikipedia, Sam Cooke is a cousin.

Isn't that more like round 28 or something? Anyways, he's got to avenge Josh Gratton

Huh. Okay then. Granted, my family lived in England from '75-'80, so maybe it just didn't make it "Top of the Pops".

GO FLYERS!!!

Game on!

Without R.J. "Canadien-Killer" Umberger, not sure if we'll have a chance tonight

At least it's Jim Hughson, this may be enjoyable.

I love that we get to listen to Jim Hughson. He's one of the best, and calls it right down the middle.
