Wasn't he with Tampa? If he can't make the team there, I doubt he could push one of our top 12 out. But I could be wrong.

We have too many Jussi Jokinen type of players already.

Not really, he doesn't bring anything to our team that we don't already have. Surprised to see how much he's dropped off since his rookie season though.

I'd pick him up. Trade some depth on the wing for that elusive top 4 defenseman.

For example, trade Higgins and something else to Minnesota for Zidlicky and have Jokinen play on the checking line.

If tampa waives him it means either 2 things:
they are stupid
he's the worst player in the league

which both come down to: they suck

Knowing that they thought that Matt Carle was useless and then the Flyers can't say enough good things about him makes me think that not making it in Tampa means nothing...But I would not be tempted. Unless Bob has a 4 on 1 deal and Jokinen would fill a void...

I could have a bet with my friend Blind Guardian, would bet that he'll get claimed.....But BG will never bet with me.....keeps losing those.... (Ferland has 29 points in 33 games in Austria BG....I knew he was a good player....)

The only thing we might need him for is shootouts.

Did Tampa have him playing the wing or center?

Not a bad face-off %

Tampa's become a real side show of late.

I recall he's money in the shootout/breakaway. I also thought he had a decent 2-way game.

It might be worth a consideration if he's a triggerman. It'd be highly dependant on his contract and how much time he has left before his UFA-dom.

Getting rid of an offensive guy on a crap team is a bit of a crapshoot. How many points is he supposed to produce? He was a decent player on a good Dallas team.

He'd be a good fit for the Leafs or maybe Dallas would take him to replace Avery.

He's better than this move makes it seem. I would say anything odd that TB does right now is probably a stupid mistake.... he'd be a good 4th liner, but I doubt there's much interest from MTL due to our 4th line playing well right now.

I predict whoever gets him will be happy, though.

Nope better players in our system and our 4th line clicks great. A team like Ottawa should grab him.

Not bingo. Jussi Jokinen is not good in the shootouts. I don't know how this myth has lived on for the last three years like it was handed down to Moses on Mount Sinai. He had a great stretch in his rookie season and all of a sudden he's money in the shootout for the rest of his career. I'm too lazy to look up his numbers but I bet he's no better than average now.

No interest from the Habs on any level.

There's hope for these guys...

if T-bags are going to start selling we could make a play. I'd like to add St.Louis if we could get him.

He has nice guts for the playoffs.

Umm PLEASE?!

No way he drops to us, but I'd take him in a heartbeat.

He can play either wing or centre.. Screw Maxwell.. give me Jokinen!

He's having a bad year, but so is everyone on Tampa. I really don't think Vrbata was as bad as he stats said either.. or Malone for that matter.
