Just a classic, right there. Someone should save that page in case he tries to delete it to make himself look better.

Almost as good as "Ryan Smyth re-signs with the Oilers, e5"...but seeing as how he announced that one on live TV, it's still the winner.

Got something just as good:

Quote:
Norris SHELDON SOURAY

Amidst all sorts of controversy and trade rumors Sheldon Souray has come from nowhere to be the most dominant defensive force in the NHL. This guy will be a UFA at the end of the year.

Vezina CRISTOBAL HUET

"Flash in the pan" he is not.

If Gainey picks up Gaborik it would certainly end the is he a good GM debate.

I remember he got the Doug Weight to Carolina deal in 2006 right.

I honestly can't name many deals he's actually broken.

Anyone else?

What is Gaborik's value at the moment?

2nd rounder and 2 mid prospects is the most I'd give for him

That wouldn't even get you Mikko. You're not being realistic.

It'd be way easier to get Gaborik out of Minnesota than it would be to get Mikko.

Wow.. you guys are nuts!! First he says minnesota up to something... then a period! which means a new thought.... then he says the deadline is five hours away for anyone in the league to do something and then another period! there was two different sentences there... Montreal was holding out hope that they would get sundin.. Gainey is under pressure to win the cup THIS year for the 100th anny! Gaborik is without doubt they next target for him! does that mean it happens ... no... but gainey is trying to make a powerhouse.. that you can believe! I heard that Pleks is in middle of this, but a few other names are being thrown around including lats, boullion and a few other prospects... I am not saying that all those guys are going.. but it sounds like pleks is part of it for sure.. ( he does seem like a player that would fit in their system!) .. in saying all of this.. I havent heard that it is going down.. but i have heard that gainey has talked to 4 teams about who is available!!!

Maybe, but If Gainey can get Gaborik for 2nd rounder and 2mid prospects, I will worship him as a GM. That would be the steal of the century, Injured or Not Gaborik is a franchise player. However It would never happen that Gabs would go that cheap. So regardless, his offer is still unrealistic.

I said it is the most I'd give for him. He's been inconsistant, noisy (with his contract status), and INJURED. At the moment he has little value because he is all potential and no proof.

2nd Rounder
Fischer (his value has lowered)
and like Russell or Stewart or D'agostini

I am confused. Shouldn't we be criticizing Russo with as much disdain as we are Ek? He actually reported the behind closed doors meeting of Minny management and we are blaming Eklund because he picked up on it (probably from Russo blog). All he did was say it may be talk between Montreal and Minnesota which is not new news. Even McKenzie mentioned the most likely destination for Gaborik was Montreal a month ago. Ek is reporting everything he hears and finds (we all scan sites looking for latest gossip) and we jump all over him. He is like Entertainment tonight. He reports the gossip of the NHL and some of it may actually be true with a lot of fluff in between.
