OT: Bergeron concussion today: Bruins fortunes have changed

Unfortunately, it seems it was a shoulder to the head

Now the Bruins will likely slow down... at least slightly

Nothing is guaranteed in the NHL

good thing we have Sobotka to step in

the reality is Bergeron is not what is making this team tick

It sucks for Bergy, but how is it gonna make them slow down? I hope they do, not holding my breath though.

True, but he is still a valuable player. Hopefully this isn't a long term issue, best of luck for a quick recovery Bergeron.

I doubt that bergeron would be the reason to slow the bruins down. He hasn't been one of the primary players for them this season like seasons past, at least in my view.

Its more like a chink in the armor, not a blow.

of course he is...

but he was playing more of a shutdown role which is more easily filled

the hope was that he would finally start to step up his game offensively and make the Bruins even better...

hopefully a quick recovery indeed

Scoring is not everything...Sometimes when you lose a character guy from your team it affects the whole teams play.Either they play not so well or they band together and play even better....The Habs were not the same team when Komi was injured and he can't score to save his life...

Your very right.it could have a huge affect.Myself,I can see him heading for LTIR and money going elsewhere,He has not looked right all year, to me at least.Everytime i see him now I think of the Lindros boys.

I agree...Since Bergeron came back from his injury he just doesn't seem to play with the same "edge" he did before he was injured.Hope he will be alright.......

LOL Bergeron is great until he gets hurt. Then all of a sudden they won't miss him. Funny how this all works

Could you imagine if it was "Cam" Lucic that was hurt today... The NHL would have to send in grief councilors to deal with distraught Bruins fans...

Can we stop with Bruins related threads... I mean, why are doing exactly what they used to do last year... It's a loser obsession...

What counts are the playoffs and last I know we beat them last year...

They're the ones who has something to prove not us... stop being obsess about their fortune.

Poor guy, I always liked bergeron. It's a shame. Poor guy. He's a talented player, I wish him all the best. Two concussions in two years.:/

While I'll never shed tears for the team or their fans, Bergeron is a good kid and a hell of a hockey player. He's already had to make one courageous comeback, I hope he can come back from this one as well. Concussions in the NHL are an epidemic!

Which is more fitting for losers? Talk about a rival's player (and a homeboy no less) being injured or refusing to talk about them out of some misplaced arrogance?

I hope he gets well soon.
