Yashin's style of play is indeed fairly phlegmatic, but the lazy and selfish tags are by and large a creation of the North American media. He has been excellent in most of his [now 100 and soon to be 101] games for Russia and was one of the few players who always unconditionally accepted the call to play at the World Champions during Russian hockey's recent trough.

actually, from what I remember Jagr will stick with his gloves for a very very long time, getting them repaired and sticking with the fit he's used to vs. getting new ones
i googled "jagr gloves" and found a thread of 2007 from some other forum of him using old assed DR gloves with RBK logo's sewn onto them

Jagr's little finger on the left hand was broken on WCH 05 and since that moment he can't fully move it. Some time he was even playing with special glove where were two fingers joined together.

Red Square is the focal point of all of Russia and many surrounding countries. Wrigley field is a focal point of the Midwestern fans of a sport that no one gives a **** about internationally. If you took a poll and saw who in the world knows the Red Square and who knows Wrigley field, the Red Square would win by a mile. I am a Mets fan, i couldn't give two ****s about Wrigley field. If it burned down tomorrow i would care as much about it as a tissue i threw in the garbage.

The glove on Jagr's right hand was one half of the gloves he was using for he Rangers for the past 3 or so years. The newer glove on his left hand is one half of a pair of gloves he took from the Rangers after last season....they are a brand new pair of Nike bauer XXXX gloves made for Fedor Tyutin. Toots didn't need them anymore after he was traded to Columbus. The JOFA helmet....the old Gretzky style....is a helmet he has had for years. He used it in practice since his days in Pittsburgh. Anyone who has used one of those or even held on knows they don't protect much.

Red Square is FAR more historical than some pathetic baseball stadium.
Everybody knows about Red Square, and it is, without argument, one of the most famous places in modern history. As for Wrigley Field? I hadn't even heard of it before the announcement of the Winter Classic, and I'm not exactly very far from Chicago. Really, there's nothing great about some stupid baseball stadium named after a terrible brand of gum.

A baseball field is not exactly famous outside of the baseball hotspots. Which aren't exactly many

Would be alot cooler with like Times Square as I mentioned earlier on or infront of the White House, that would atleast tie the Req Square. Which I otherwise think is spot on, excellent piece of merchandising from the KHL.
Would be real cool to play hockey beside the Pyramids of Egypt though. I guess the electricity bill prevent that from happening, but there's always synthetic ice!
NHL needs to show itself on the international arena if it wants hockey recognition and NHL interest to spread. Wrigley Field isn't international. So far KHL-NHL 1-0..
