The Habs should stay as far away as they can from Spezza! The guy doesn't have any idea what his own zone looks like and by the looks of it, he seems pretty much un-coachable. I don't want him.
Heatley on the other hand...
Nah, seriously folks, there's no way in hell that a trade of that magnitude would happen within our division. Same goes for Kaberle in Toronto. Fogetaboutit!

Yeah right. Just like Mats Sundin last year?
I can't see the Habs trading with the Sens but considering the needs of both teams, I could very well see the Habs and the Leafs discuss about Kaberle.
Do not waste your time on this loser....sure he has talent, but he has NO HEART.... and you already have Tanguay who is a simular player (not with the no heart, in the sense he is a pass first guy)
I think you need a more gritty forward if anything like, i dunno...Shanny would fit well
Montreal needs size, a bigger more dangerous presece down the middle and a game breaker. Spezza is all of these things and he would be perfect in Montreal!
To Montreal
- Jason Spezza
- 2nd round draft pick on 2009
To Ottawa
- Tomas Plekanec
- Jaroslav Halak
- David Fischer
- 1st round draft pick in 2009
Why it makes sense for Montreal:
- We need size, a bigger presence, a game breaker and skill down the middle
- We are closer to winning the cup than Ottawa
- We can make the move and sacrifice prospects and picks at this point in our plan
Why it makes sense for Ottawa:
- They are contimplating a rebuild after this season
- They need goaltending depth and a star prospect in the system
- They can use Plekanec at centre who is NHL ready
- They can take David Fischer (who isn't in our plans anymore)
What do you guys think? I would rather go after Spezza who is under contract for a few more seasons as opposed to trade away assets for Bouwmeester and have him sign somewhere else come July.
excellent post , and a realistic proposal. Ottawa above all need DEPTH , they have none , they are getting 3 good players and number 1 pick somewhere between 17-22, to go with their lottery pick . This team has to be ripped up , but Heatly is the guy they should trade , SPEZZA like him or not is a # 1 center, you dont find many of them . Jason is a huge upgrade to what we have plus he is locked up .
He would thrive here with a good team.

First,Tomas Plekanec is not even close to being traded that guy is way better than spezza. He hopefully not even being close to be traded.
Second, We are not giving our 1st round draft pick in 09, your crazy!!!
Third,Jaroslav Halak is okay we always have Marc Denis in the minors.
