Staal is better defensively then antro.

No kidding. Just as he's a huge upgrade over Fedotenko.

I like that you get both ends of the overrated/underrated spectrum around here.

Satan,Grant +4th

for Antropov +5th
Understandably, Staal is off limits, but that 1st has to be part of the package, or the Leafs could look elsewhere (unless there was a 1st round level prospect included in the deal). Satan is no help whatsoever, and moving our 5th for the Pens 4th makes little sense, they'll be seperated by like 10 picks.

Poni, who is starting to play a similar game finally, could probably be had for a 2nd and mid-level prospect however.

Add another piece like Shanahan on Sids wing and now you have a Power line with a right handed shot and two players to stick up for Sid...All done with out losing any core players......I see him as the Right wing Malone, only bigger...He is on pace for 60+ points, He had 56 last year and 33 before that...So he is not a chump and hes not an elite winger in the sense of Hossa, But the pens may not be able to afford such a high costing winger..Antropov is a UFA, they could even sign him next year for around the same salary + i am sure...2.5 I would think. that depends on what he does this year. So while you may come up with some reasons why not. there is a few why to do it to.....
While Antro is big, and like to use his body, in no way is he an enforcer type of guy. He won't take any ****, but if anybody was to ever call his bluff, Antro wouldn't do too much in a fight. But yes, he is excellent in front of the goalie, and when he has the puck, he will hit players coming to hit him. I hate to admit it, but he would be a perfect fit on Pittsburgh, because he plays both ends of the rink.

It's not both ends of the spectrum around here - Antropov is getting ridiculously underrated.

Antropov is a better defensive player than young Staal. If Staal continues to develop his defensive game, then in a few years he may reach that level.

And yeah, Fedotenko is nowhere in the same league, in any facet of the game.

Fedotenko is 15gl/35pt 3rd line type player, Antropov is a 30gl/60pt borderline 1st line type player.

Last 3 years (including this year):

N.Antropov (28): 158gms, 57gls, 115pts (82gms, 30gls, 60pts)
P.Sykora (32): 192gms, 62gls, 143pts (82gms, 27gls, 61pts)
R.Fedotenko (29): 177gms, 36gls, 81pts (82gms, 17gls, 38pts)

A comparison of Antropov to Fedotenko is just plain silly, to tell the truth.

Antropov is a Sykora-level offensive player, while being a dominant defensive player as well.

If we gave up a first for Antropov Shero should be fired. Antropov? We want Antropov? Why?????????? He sucks

He doesn't suck but the Pens should not give up anything of value for him, unless he signs for a decent contract.

This is a horrible trade idea, if the Pens want Antro, they can wait till July 1st. Antropov is on pace to have a solid year again and yeah...it won't work. Even if I am a fan of Antro, Poni and a few other Leafs players.

Thats not objective. I understand if you just don like he but he doesnt suck. He is a dominant physical force and excellent 2 way player. If the Pens don't want him I'm sure one of the teams your competing against would love too.

25 - 30 goals, defensive responsibility and physical dominance in the corners and along the boards and a guy tough to move from infront of the net suck now.

He doesn't suck. Don't give our fan base a bad rep by acting like every player sucks except our guys. Antropov is a huge upgrade over our wingers on the left side. I would rather see him over Satan as well.

At 28yrs old he is finally healthy more often and playing much better each season. Hard to say he sucks when you just see him only against the Pens and not on HNIC or whatever. But I assure you, Antropov doesn't suck.

That's nice and all, but not worth Staal at this point and damn sure not worth a first round pick.

If Antropov was everything you say he is, why would the Leafs want to move him? Something doesn't "jive" here.

We gave up last years first, and considering how we don't have a lot of top 6 potential prospects, I would be shocked if we gave up a 1st for a guy like Antropov.

What makes you think Antro would sign with the Pens unless he has played there a little while to get the feel of the team and city.

Maybe he sees an opportunity to get paid and Pittsburgh, in need of bigger wingers, has money to spend in the summer whereas they do not right now.

If he is as good as y'all are making him, why isn't Toronto making more of an effort to sign him?

I like Goligoski but we already have enough defencemen. If that is the slim pickings we get from your forward core to trade for, I would consider moving Antropov elsewhere.

Oh no kidding, I think the original idea of who was supposedly available in odd's eyes was stupid enough. I mean Kennedy? Does he even watch Penguins games or is he like some fake Pens fan posting annoying trade proposals to annoy us?

A first for Antropov? No
Wait till after July 1st and call Antropov? Yes.

That's how I see it with acquiring him.
