New York Rangers Resign LW Richard Scott

Well I guess it seems that Scott will be healthy and ready to go by training camp. I expect him to fully make the team and be our legit enforcer this season.

He has a contract for 2004/05 season that will pay him $375,000.00. I expect this to be announced on the Rangers site in the next few days.

For his sake I hope he's healthy. He has a history of concussions. I doubt he can stay healthy long enough to be an enforcer, unless he learns to take a punch.

I took the signing of Gillies meaning one of two things for Scott: 1) He's penciled in to be on the big club next year, at the very least as a part-time enforcer/energy guy. 2) He's done. I'm inclined to think the latter.

Fighters with concussion problems are bad investments.

Especially the young game ones not overly large... who take a shot to give back one.

It's one last chance to step up to the level they've been hoping for for a couple of years now.

If he didnt keep getting hurt he'd be there, but as others have said a fighter with concussion problems as severe as Scott's just isn't gonna last long.

I tend to personally think he is done, as per what i said to Ortmeyer the other day on aim.
