Malkin showed his true colors in the SCF, just another soft russian floater.
Give me the canadian
.Just Shows How Much you dont know about Hockey. Let me Put this in words even people like you can understand. No Malkin, and no Playoffs for the Penguins Last season. The Guy worked his ass off just putting the Pens in the Top 8. Thats some respect you've shown. Malkin Proved he could put the Pens in the Playoffs without Crosby, Crosby hasnt done so yet.
Anyone who voted for Malkin just looked up the to date stats and voted on that basis.
The same reason why 'hfboarders' vote for Kane/Semin over St Louis.... because they just....don't....know.
I've watched nearly every game of their entire careers. Contrary to what some would have you believe, this is a great poll.
For me, I picked who I would rather watch night-in and night-out. Crosby is an amazing player with vision like few others and can split defensemen better than anyone. Malkin is simply electric and has me on the edge of my seat every time he has the puck. I'm not sure which would win more championships but I'll take Malkin and the excitement he provides every time he touches the puck.
I cannot believe Malkin is winning this poll, but it's flavor of the week I guess.
Or maybe the majority of us just feel Malkin is/will be the better player?
I think it's quite funny that there are still people like you who feel Crosby should be handed the win by default, in every poll such as this one. Because surely we can't possibly believe anyone else is better than Sidney Crosby, right?

Or Malkin would fit better on our team.
The NHL won't let people think there is somebody better then Crosby.
Unlike almost everyone who says they thought Malkin was better than Crosby before this season, I actually did and I am sticking to that even though Crosby is one hell of a player
I mean, he and Crosby get a bunch of points together, and we know for a fact that the league is doing everything in it's power to get Sid to the top of the scoring race, so if Crosby goes to another team - *poof* - there go all of Malkin's points that were gained on the Kid's favoritism, and the NHL gets Crosby's points for him on another team.

You gotta pick the Chosen One.
Like last season when Crosby was out for 30 games, and Malkin carried the Pens to the top of the division? Or like the Buffalo game where Malkin had three points, while Crosby's only point was his high stick? Crosby is so much better.

Malkin has been better than Crosby in 2 out of the 3 seasons he has played.
Uh, no. Crosby was obviously the better player in '06-'07, and then obviously the better player in '07-'08 until he got injured (tied for the league lead in scoring with games in hand, anyone?).
He and Malkin were neck-and-neck through 2 playoff series, after which Malkin got hurt and sick, and his play suffered. Malkin's been the better player through 33 games this year - that's it.
Crosby. Though it is pretty close. God I love typing that. But Crosby just has a seemingly sixth sense that is almost scary that sets him apart from any other player in the league, including Malkin. But very very close. I still remember when the first lottery balls everyone forgets did not favor the Pens and they got Malkin instead of Ovechkin. And I participated in threads that went for a thousand posts where almost everyone told me I was crazy to say that Malkin was every bit the player Ovechkin was and a center to boot which all things being equal you would rather have. I have been enjoying watching this play out pretty much as I had said.
As a ps, if you asked ANY owner in the league, including Washington's, off the record they would tell you Crosby. He is the biggest draw in the sport guarenteeing 15 years of sellouts. Not to mention his skills he brings. Crosby by far would be the number one choice of any owner in the league. So to answer this question there is no doubt that Mario and company would pick Crosby and not even think a nanosecond about it.
