Kuba out, Alfredsson, Neil, and Heatley Questionable

Struggling Ottawa Senators take to the road looking for wins
http://www.google.com/hostednews/can...P_x3xQjtJAjYQg

Hartsburg said Kuba, the team's top-scoring defenceman, won't travel to Philadelphia, but Alfredsson, Heatley and Neil will, although they may not play. Forward Ilya Zubov, who didn't play last Friday due to visa problems, was expected to make the trip.

Not sure why, but i thought this little quote from Spezza was funny for some reason.

"It's tough to win games when you don't score," lol

What the heck happened to Kuba. That came from way out in left field...to me at least.

He was shaken up last game. They showed him leaning over the bench uncomfortably at one point. I didn't notice if he left the game or not though.

Just found this...
Alfredsson will try to skate Tuesday
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2008/12/22/sens_update/

However, the news does not appear as promising for defenseman Filip Kuba. He will miss Tuesday's game with what appears to be a groin injury sustained at the start of overtime Saturday night. Hartsburg did not give a long-range prognosis on Kuba, only stating that he will miss the trip to Philadelphia.

This is not good, especially against the red hot Flyers.

In OT he was skating normally, looked like he caught a rut in the ice and injured his groin

At least they figured out Zubov's visa issues.

Bloody. Likely we will continue to lose, but not be able to trade Kuba.

Nice one, it is up there with his, "your motivation is what drives you" on the Jubilee ad.

Let's just make sure that Zubov's canadian visa doesn't expire when we return home.

hockey teams' don't have problems with canada border services agency, I think they'd lose their jobs if they ****ed with hockey.

With quotes like that, you might as well state something like:
"We lost, because they scored more goals than us."

Sucks that Winchester won't be playing either... I think if McAmmond is ready to go and so are the other three, Neil should be the healthy scratch.

It's going to be interesting to see who sits up front when everyone is healthy again. A guy like Cody Bass who has played well in his role will probably get sent down barring a trade or if Murray decides to waive someone. Same situation with Zubov - hell will break loose on these boards if that happens though.

I love it when you talk dirty....

And what's with all these guys pulling their groin. It sounds bad. Hope they are coming back 100% healthy and not rushing things. I think it could end up being a pretty physical game tonight and don't really want to see Alfie, or anyone for that matter, re-injure themselves because they were not ready.

The only reason Bass is up here is because of the injury situation, so he'll probably be sent down once we're healthy. Zubov was called up to help the offense, so I'd think he'd stay.

Having an extra day off may help Alfredsson. That would give him a full week to recover, and he probably could use the time to recuperate before heading out West to play three good teams.
