Philadelphia - Columbus

to Philadelphia

Commodore and a 4th

to Columbus

Randy Jones and Alberts

As I've read some CBJ fan posts, they would like to have a QB for their power-play. With Randy Jones, they may get what Hitchcock is looking for. Alberts is a poor mans Commodore and should be at least a good 3rd pairing d-man for them.

Philadelphia is set up at the front. What the Flyers are lacking is a true #1 goaltender (what a surprise) and a stay-at-home, top 4 defender. I think with Commodore they fill 1 of the 2 needs. If the proposal stands as I figuered it out, the Flyers could also shed some salary (about 200k).

Really? To be honest, I don't watch many CBJ games. I just checked his stats and from what I remember from him in his Senator days, I made the proposal. Value-wise, not fair?

Much like Jones, Commodore is overpaid, and his contract runs thru 2013. I would politely pass.

Commodore is leading our defense in ice time and is part of our leadership core for the Jackets. I doubt he gets moved anytime soon. I like Jones and Alberts but I don't think Commodore is getting dangled this season. I think Jones could be traded to the BJs for a pick or prospect.

Commodore has a NTC for 3 years. Not that he wouldn't wave it to go to Philly, but when he signed with us the sticking point was that we were a team that wanted him. I don't think Philly would want him as much as us.

He is overpaid, but he's played better than I had expected. Still not worth that much money though. And I was under the impression that Jones could be had cheap for like a 3rd rounder..maybe 2nd.

Not a big fan of the Commodore contract. I'll pass for the Flyers.

Commodore is playing very well for the Jackets. No way Columbus moves him even if he didn't have a NTC.

He's got 14 points in 33 games and he's a +3.

He's 3rd amongst defensemen in the entire NHL with 92 hits and 9th in blocked shots with 79. He's averaging over 22 minutes of ice time and is playing against the opposition's top lines and on the first PK unit.

Not to mention the leadership he brings on and off the ice.

Quite frankly he's playing waay above what I anticipated. He started out a little rough but has really come around and found some solid chemistry with Hejda. Sure he's overpaid but what UFA defensemen isn't?

He's essentially filled Foote's role plus some.

In other words... I pass on this deal

As a flyers fan, Id say yes. Our D is really young and if we want to perform well in the playoffs, we need some veterans. Commodore is certainly overpaid, but jones is in the same situation...I think it could help both teams. Alberts would sort of replace commodore in columbus because he is also really physical, and Jones would help them on the PP.

Our D is finally healthy. Flyers had 2 giveaways in last game against Devils.

Alberts and Vaananen do the same thing as Commodore and both are much better skaters makings almost twice less.

I would hate to see Commodore playing against Parise, Malkin and Crosby for the next 5 years.

Hopefully Jones is traded for a decent 6'2-6'3 220lbs 3rd line RW to replace Nodl or Gratton or a prospect or a pick.

The last thing we need to trade for is a winger

The flyers already have enough red headed rubber scrubbers on their team. They donít need another one. I would rather dead then red in the head.
