I always appreciate when someone resurrects the soccer threads.

I was wondering if anyone here plays, and knows what a pretty annoying pain on the back of your knee could be? It hasn't improved at all, and some days its okay I can barely feel it, and some days it aches to the point of grimmacing. It doesn't hurt so much going DOWN stairs as it does going UP. I plan to see a doctor in the coming days, but I know it'll just be an order for an MRI and my insurance only covers 90% of those. Expensive.

Knee injuries can be extensive and recurring, i'd highly recommend it getting checked out soon. It sounds to me like it could be ITBS. Is it restricted to your knee area or does it hurt the back of your calf?

Only knee...maybe a tiny bit of the hamstring, where the knee and hamstring meet.

Munich fan here. Lots of family originally from there. Also tend to cheer for Valencia considering I studied abroad there.

Nope. I find it boring, and the over the top diving really kills any attempt to watch it

Hockey has its share of divers too. It's a stigma that isn't necessarily true. Some players do dive, and they are really annoying, but when you play a game mostly with your LEGS, chances are, your going to fall a bit more than say basketball.

But the faking of injuries? Rolling around like he's been shot in the knee cap one second, then popping up, good as new when he doesn't get the call. And the whole time, the replay there was no contact between players.

ps I hate hockey divers too

Again...if you watch as much as I do, you'll know that it usually isn't the case. And, sometimes there isn't contact, but there is a maneuver to get out of the way that can cause another issue. Soccer players wear the least amount of padding yet most legs are much, much stronger than arms. The difference in damage done with a swinging leg over a swinging fist can be astronomical.

Interesting. That's why I don't watch basketball.

And the worst dive I've seen in a long while is FSU punter Graham Gano in their bowl game last week.

On the Swans!

Wait, this isn't about Aussie Rules? Darn. I think CNote and I are the only two footy fans on here. Weren't we discussing this when Sav Rocca came over to make the Eagles? Or was that someone else?

Should be an interesting year for the Swans. Hopefully some of the young guys continue to improve over last year...they've brought in quite a few younger guys recently, although the vets still dominate that team. And maybe someone could get Barry Hall to control his temper a bit. The guy's a beast when he's playing the game, but he lives up to the "Big Bad Barry" nickname too often. It's interesting to watch them retool, although I'll freely admit I know very little about how the offseason works in the AFL since I'm fairly new to the league (only been following it since 2003, and not as closely as I'd like).

Yeah Cesc is probably done for the year, Arsenal are going to have serious, serious trouble getting a CL place.

This Blyth Spartans v Blackburn game is priceless!..Setanta has it covered by their Blue Square Premier (Conference) coverage team...attendance is like 600 people..they interview the gaffers DURING the game...and they have cameras in the dressing sheds, I mean rooms....hilarious...

I can't stand Serie A. EPL for the win.

I would consider myself an Arsenal fan as that is my friend from London's team since birth and I don't really have the heart or time invested to cheer for another team. I love watching the big international competitions though but don't have enough time to really keep up with the full season of football.
