a complaint free world

Hey everyone, as it is the xmas season I thought I'd throw something out there that might help improve people's lives. A lot of negativity can really hurt your self esteem and in essence leads to more negativity. The idea behind http://www.acomplaintfreeworld.org/ is that when we spend our time uselessly *****ing, it puts us in a bad state of mind and leads to more useless *****ing. What this does, is forces you to ask yourself
if what your saying is pointless *****ing, or actually constructive talk that can help you. If you start paying attention, you'll begin to notice how half the things you say are pointless and accomplish nothing other than bringing down those around you, and diminishing your mental capacities. The gist of it is, you wear a bracelet and every time you complain and it isn't constructive, you switch the hand the bracelet is on. This way, you are aware of your thoughts. It's kind of like training a dog with a clicker, but doing it with yourself.
This really does make a surprising difference. People will want to talk to you when you're not bringing them down all the time, and you'll find that you'll become a better problem solver if you try and think constructively instead of merely brain farting out idiotic crap.

The reason I bring this up on the sens board, is I've noticed a lot of pointless negativity that is bound to seep over into the rest of your life. If you can't handle a bad pass or spend two years *****ing about somebody's contract, what are you going to do when something actually bad happens? Try to ask yourself, am I saying something completely pointless for the hell of it or is this constructive?

oh,and save yourself a buck. find your own damn bracelet or whatever it is that makes you stylishly sexy.

/end senators board.

My friend wore an elastic band around his wrist when he was 17. He snapped himself every time he felt the urge to suck his thumb.

It worked. He's a grown man and he hasn't sucked his thumb in years, as far as I know.

For $19.95, you too can have a "Complaint Free World(copyright 2008)"!

that's why you should find your own damn bracelet or something to train yourself. I am in no way affiliated with those people, and I am not encouraging anyone to spend any money on it. Just trying to make a positive difference in people's lives.

So you're saying that if I put an elastic band around something and snap it everytime I want to touch it, it will solve my problem? Hmmm, I think it will really hurt, but I am willing to try and beat my internet porn addiction.

Yes, but now if he hears the sound of an elastic snapping he falls into a fetal position and cries uncontrollably. Next time you are near him I recommend you test this theory.

My opinion... after going through this excercise often enough you will come to associate the pain with your urges. After some time you won't be able to perform again without the snapping elastic. The need for the elastic snapping will grow more and more intense until the only way you will find release is to be dropped from the CN tower with a 1,000 foot bungee chord strapped to your willeh.

Have you been reading my diary?

I think the city of Toronto just found a new way to market their outdated tourist attraction.

Are they taking about those slap bracelets that were awesome? It was straight and then youd slap it on your wrist and it would curl around the wrist and lock in. I had a leopard print one, it was dead sexy.

You mean loving the smack of a leopard print wristband hitting your wrist and becoming one with your person is abnormal?

I never said it was abnormal. I would never judge anothers needs. I simply pointed out that it was, imo, outside the "elastic snapping" fetish and more of a leopard print kinda fetish.

Ya negativity sucks. For me I am a lot different away from the boards, pretty happy person in regular day to day life. The Sens though, I get passionate when discussing.

just curious, do you drop numbers and stats on all your hockey conversations outside these boards?

I do, if the conversation needs it and I want to make a point about something. I enjoy working with numbers and coming up with stats. Can paint a picture with numbers and tell a story.

On a side note a person on this board who is great at working with numbers is Trent.

yeah thats cool man. It just that I never seen a guy drop so many numbers like you do, especially like in a list format you got going sometimes. Just trying to picture having a one on one conversation with someone listing numbers of certain players year by year
