Being a BU fan as well I'm glad to see Wilson and Shattenkirk get letters, but I am equally suprised as a Flyers fan to see JVR with no letter in what is his final year at World Juniors. I actually don't know much about Blum, but then again the letter doesn't matter. As long as JVR scores at will over there, that's all the "leadership" we need to see. We already have our captain for the next dozen years.

John Tavares scored a pretty sick goal tonight for Canada against Slovakia. I haven't seen the video on Youtube yet, but he batted the puck out of the air to himself at the side of the net and then batted into the net.

It's much cooler than my description, I promise.

Well, it ended up being quite impressive so consider yourself off the hook.

What are the chances JVR does an Okposo and leaves school after the WJC's and signs a pro contract.

Do you think he's ready to play for the Phantoms?

I think he is ready to play for the Phantoms, but I think it is unlikely he turns pro after the WJC's since he chose to go back to UNH.

He won't. Unlike the Islanders view of Minnesota and college hockey in general, the Flyers like where JVR is at and think he's developing well, and I agree. He's scoring at a great pace and establishing a better work ethic.

You read right. They also didn't want him to go to college at all. With some college players they tend to snub teams just to prove that they made the right decision.

Man, that Tavares goal was nice. That whole Canada team looked awesome. I'd be pleased if they won the whole thing. I reckon the US will do great until the games count, then lose the one game that counts and finish out of medal contention AGAIN.

That top line is damn good! All three of them are going to be great NHL'ers.
