Nobody is rushing Forsberg. If the specialist in North Carolina said that Forsberg is good to go and he doesn't need the 2nd surgery, then that has nothing to do with the Flyers rushing him. The surgeon in North Carolina is in no way, shape or form associated with the Flyers. I don't think any doctor would be willing to put his license on the line for any team if they deem that a player is fit to return when he isn't. A previous doctor for the Flyers found this out the hard way when the Dave Babych lawsuit took place and the doctor was deemed responsible for clearing Babych to play when he shouldn't have.

If correct, probably is IMO.

Corso is a small center, he'll fit right in with the other 20...

Breaking: Forsberg could be ready for start of season

"We got some good news finally," Clarke said. "It's encouraging, very encouraging. After the doctor's visit today, we were told that his left foot is only 10 percent of what his right foot was and that his right foot is a month ahead of schedule. We expect he will be able to start skating in September."

The Flyers have scheduled a conference call with Forsberg and trainer Jim McCrossin for later this afternoon.

This is excellent news, as when the season starts we can expect a lineup something like this:

Gagne -- Forsberg -- Knuble
Umberger -- Carter -- Richards
Eager -- Handzus -- Kapanen
Nedved -- Robitaille -- Dimitrakos

Alter those 12 all you want, but it is very appetizing.

Our forwards we knew wouldn't be too bad, another one would have been nice, but the concern is with the defense. Hatcher sucks, Rathje we don't know how good he is, Meyer look good, tries hard but I can't see him being that reliable. Baumgartner sucks coming back. Jonsson was never that good in Sweden, and who knows about Timonen he'll be a rookie.

Forsberg will still not be able to start the season. He'll just miss less of it.

According to the news reports, we'd be looking at November. However, there was also talk on those news reports that Forsberg will be ready to begin skating in September. That will be the litmus test right there. If his groin begins to act up again or if there is a problem with the left foot, then we start worrying.

this is excellent news. but he shouldnt rush back for any reason...even if he needs to take extra time to heal his bad foot then he should take it.

i think a second or third opinion on the "good"foot would be wise also

anyone else hearing the winds of change blowing through. no its just about primeau deciding if he good or not cause there are a few guys out there that i would love to have in our line up.

Sykora or Samsonov anyone? Either could be had for Primeaus price, Sykora for less.

whoever dug this up is cruel. i'd take foppa back any day, but i'm biased since he's kind of my favorite player.

I knew it wasn't new because our mods are like lightning with thread title updates. i.e. one would have changed it to include his name by now.

No kidding! Gagne, Knuble, Richards and Carter are the only current forwards.

But I don't miss that lineup one bit, other than Handzus.
