Anyone here have NHL Network with Verizon. How much money did you have to pay in order to get it. I went out with my bro to get something to eat and just happened to catch the second period.

Scored from the slot. He has a nice touch and some of his passes were sick.

JVR didnt seem to get alot of icetime in the 3rd because it seemed as though the US was just content to sit on the lead but he did almost have his hattrick goal as he was cruising thru the slot towards the goal and received a beauty of a pass and let a onetimer snapshot go that the German goalie made a beautiful stop on.

Overall it looked like JVR was alittle disinterested for some reason and yet he was still solid. He was constantly backchecking and played fairly well defensively IMO. ANybody else who watched this game what do you think???

He wasn't running around like Mike Richards but I don't think it's fair for anyone to construe that as being disinterested. Two goals, almost had a hat-trick, and he played well defensively. The entire line had 9 points when they knew Team USA was going to count on them for the bulk of their scoring. Good statement game to open the tournament with, IMO.

So, I don't get NHL network for some reason. Is there any live streams of the WJC online? edit: nevermind, found it on Justin.tv
Also, good to see JVR getting a good start with 2 goals.

That Tavares is something else. Put Canada up 1 - 0 after one.

Nice win for USA today!!

JVR did come off as disinterested or that he just doesn't have to try to hard. I don't know, sweet win for the US though.

Since Carter got labeled the same way until he started competing for the Rocket RIchard, I'm just going to assume "disinterested" is short for "big guy that skates well."

He hasn't had to try all that hard all season, that's probably his biggest problem.

I live out near Reading and we get nhl network with service electric, comes standard with the HD package!
As for JVR, I would agree that he seems to play a low intensity game. I would almost say he is a mirror image of Leclair. This was my first time seeing him play so I'd like to see more. From what I saw the kid really floats but then again he did have 2 goals.

I was at the game and had a great view. The second goal was ugly...JVR just kept hacking away at the goalie...lol. I thought the ref should have blown his whislte.

With the Americans up 4-3 and only about a minute to play, the U.S. had a 2-on-1 towards the empty Czech net and scored.... but it was called back as offside. It clearly wasn't offside. The Czechs had a couple good chances afterwards, but the Americans held on for the regulation victory in the end.

Thankfully controversy was averted.

JVR may have a few goals but has yet to play with much if any passion.I hope he turns it on very soon.He will be needed versus Canada

That was the first time i ever really saw Jvr in a full game and i really didnt see anything to impress me, he never had the puck for more then 3 seconds and he just stood in the high slot until we either lost the puck or he got it and did nothign with it

Yeah but I saw Carter absolutely dominate the ice at the WJC stage. Through two games, I've seen nothing from JVR that gets me excited.

JVR has been far from dominant so far this year. Also he hasn`t been to good in the corners so far.I am hoping that all changes very very soon.
I do have to say he sure can plant himself in front of the net though
