Im well aware of how great they are playing, but when they get healthy who are they going to move? Id vote for Knuble and Jones but who knows. Giroux could suck. Im not syaing magic will happen over night with Giroux, and Im not saying Lupul will be moved tomorrow. Could be next year, who knows. I wouldnt want to move Lupul though.

If I had to pick a foward to move to clear cap space I would pick Knuble. Im just saying if Giroux clicks with Carter, it would make Lupul expendable, Im not a fan of moving Lupul, I like him a lot, but the damn cap and Brieres unmovable contract really screws things up.

Well, they can get used to living in the real world.

Lupul signed for a LOT of money at a position where we already have a lot of money signed up in players, and a lot of talent. JVR is going to come in at about 3M per on his first contract. Giroux makes 800K or whatever.

It's great to say "Lupul is playing great..." "Lupul fits in with the team great..." etc. etc., but the fact fo the matter is that Holmgren has signed himself into a corner and he's going to CONSTANTLY have to make hard decisions from year to year. Last year he had to cut Umberger loose. Next year he's going to have to cut someone else loose, too.

Lupul makes the most sense to cut loose. And, to be honest, even if you move Lupul I think you're going to have to move someone else short-term if you expect to see JVR with this team...Upshall seems like a likely casualty (another guy that seems popular).

Look at the salary cap and tell me how you're going to make it work. Tell me who makes more sense to move than Lupul and his big contract?

Upshall doesn't make very much money, he may not make a difference

Umby!! Yep, it is almost guaranteed that he nets one. How is his season going, anyway? I haven't been following CBJ at all.

No Kimmo tonight =

Where is your backing behind the fact that JVR will be on 3 million a season in his rookie year? I thought he had to lead the league in scoring, win a stanley cup and lots of other stuff before he can come close to that 3 million marker.

Nah he's right, look at Kane's cap hit in 07-08 or Turris and Wheeler this year.

If JVR comes in and has a 20-20 season, he'll be getting paid pretty well.

34 GP 10G 8A -1

Funny thing being, the goals are broken down this way:

1 vs Dal
1 vs SJS
1 vs Atl
2 vs Buf
1 vs Mtl
1 vs Edm
2 vs NYI
1 vs Chi

So we've had 7 games versus the Eastern conference, and in those games Umberger has had 6 of his 10 goals - something about that Eastern conference...

That's because of deferred rookie bonuses. It can come down provided a new CBA agreement is reached/extended whatever. Since there theoretically is no CBA next year, all bonuses have to count. The difference wouldn't be enough to get into a discussion about, but it's worth noting.

Lets hope it's one he earns, not one of those Carey Price gifts that made him rich

He doesn't now, but he's on the end of a deal, so it's unclear what he'll be making next year. I agree, he won't be making that much and he's a stupid player to jettison given the good things he does at a low cost. However, I remain unconvinced this team will part with some other obvious players to move away from for cap purposes if nothing else--like Randy Jones.

What the player ultimately earns and how you have to account for it on the bottom line with respect to the cap are two different things. JVR will not be a <1M rookie contract, he'll have a significant chunk of the salary cap.

Hi, I am a big Claude Giroux fan and I would like to know if you have any free websites that you can watch the Flyers online?

I miss RJ. Players that come up through the system even though they weren't drafted to us, mean more to me than players we trade for or sign
