Eating crow has never tasted so good.

Before the season started, I said we'd struggle. (Roy scored)

I remember saying "and our biggest offseason acquisition was Rene Bourque! "

He's proven me wrong, and I love it.

Yeah what a pick up Borque was ( as well as Bert, Cammy and Glencross). I am glad you are enjoying your crow!

Same here...I said Pardy will never be an NHL defenceman and he has been getting better every single game.

Bourque has been fantastic, he is absolutely clutch. Something like 10 goals in the last 13, and is now only 2 behind Iggy in goals.

He is a complete steal.

The question is...was Bourque worth a 2nd rounder? Or could we have gotten him for cheaper perhaps?

Well, Sutter thought he was worth it, and he's showing that he was. According to the many Hawks fans, we could've got him for a 4th.

Bourque and Glencross have both been huge. If they can keep up this excellent role playing and scoring, you guys will go far...

He's definetly surprised me so far. I knew he had the speed and work ethic, but wasn't expecting the goal scoring. Really love what he brings to the team. He has just fit in so well. Bourque is quickly becoming a fan favorite.

Not doubting he was a good pickup. But as far as 2nd rounders go, does anyone think we could've gotten someone even better?

Just a thought, nothing to knock on Bourque but he was coming off a low season so yeah...

Not really. Tallon and Sutter probably knew Bourque was better than he played last season. Good GMs don't trade good 3rd line players for mid round draft picks (Sutter did it once with Chris Clark and I'm sure regrets it). Sutter had to overpay a little to get Tallon to bite.

we don't even know 100% for sure that it was a second rounder we got Bourque for... its speculated it was a 2nd but officially it was future considerations as they mentioned during the game

A question here, can someone explain what future considerations actually means? If it is a second rounder than yeah totally worth it. Borque is young fast and now turning into a sniper. The be thing about Borque is he seems typical of a Sutter-Keenan team in hard working, gritty and hard hitting. Great combination. A secound rounder would take years to make the team assuming of course the draft pick actually makes the NHL.
