Move Pleks & Get Weight..

How would you guess feel about moving Pleks (rumoured to Florida for Jay) and getting Doug Weight (available according to thefourthperiod.com)?

Doug would be great for the playoff run...he's experience and a leader with skills..a solid center...

What do you guys think?

weight is dead weight compared to plekanec the gangstah. I think we can get better and younger than weight.

No Pleks may possibly be the only decent center we have next year(if Koivu and Long move on).

I heard that Stephan Lebeau was a UFA and looking for a job. I'd offer him a contract and dump Pleks in a heartbeat. Same thing for Jason Allison.

If it was Doug Weight 1998, I would. Unfortunately, ten years passed. How about:
Claude Lemieux for Tomas Plekanec

Seriously... This thread is just pointless. Pleky can be a very good player when he plays with good wingers, not Kostopoulos though. He had good chemistry with Tanguay.

Nah, Dags will be the new Ryder. It's Maxwell who will become the new Pleks

I agree with this.

This definitely puts us over the edge to become a legit contender.

Weight has been THE catalyst for the Canes Cup run and he sure would do the same for us as his wealth of experience trumps all of our teams' put toghether.

Pleks just doesnt win you championships.

I didn't see Weight play lately but he's getting old. It would be like adding another Lang to our team

I might be wrong but Pleks still young and can become the next Kariya

Washed up?

Another dimension that Weight adds is that he delivers a much needed physical presence down the middle. Just ask Sutter.

Just because you disagree, it doesn't mean that this isn't a valid proposal.

And if you think Weight has too much weight...they said the same about this guy:

You do realize we don't trade young veterans for dead weight.
