Why in the blue hell is Ben Maxwell still here?

This is boiling my blood by the minute.

Look, the kid has a good future and a key prospect for us. I am not denying it.

But this kid is so overmatched, it's sad.

What is the point of keeping him up?

It's hurting the team. There's NO WAY Chipchura would be this bad.

It's hurting his development. He should be playing 20 minutes a night in the AHL, not a few minutes on a 4th line in the NHL. He got his taste, now he knows what he needs to work. Send him back.

It's hurting the Dogs as we take away one of their top offensive threats.

This is one of the most illogical things in the Gainey era. Send Maxwell to the farm already and get the guy who should have been up here had it not been for an injury. Hell, Greg Stewart would make more sense as you could shift Begin to center and Stew can actually fit in a 4th line role.

Maxwell will be good, but he does not belong in the NHL right now.

He basically cost us the 2nd goal tonight. He isn't generating much if any offence. It's not about the kid. It's about icing the best lineup for our team right now.

Chipchura deserves his chance. He proved he can compete in the NHL. He wouldn't be a liability like Maxwell is. Just send him down...

Sergei was the reason for the second goal, and Im wearing his jersey right now. Bob thinks he's the best option, so don't blame Maxwell, blame our crappy depth at center.

Wow, does Ben look out of place or what! not like he brings us grit or scoring either.

His lack of confidence costs us the second goal.

Maybe next year, but till then, reward your hard workers like Lehoux or Chipchura

If I were Chipchura I'd be ****ing pissed. He was ready last year (blah blah faceoffs, who cares, Smolinski sucked ass). Right now he has 20 points in 24 games and is a +14. Maxwell, who I believe one day will be good, is just too weak and not creating any offence. Plus when Chipchura played with Latendresse last year they were dynamite.

Is Chipchura still hurt, or is he healthy enough to play now?

Because I agree, I have no idea what Maxwell is still doing up with the big club...he looks completely overwhelmed on almost every shift.

I agree Chipchura should be up right now and not Maxwell, but Im guessing there's more to it than we think. Maybe Chipchura isn't top shape, maybe he's still rehabilitating, who knows- his call-up reflects our glaring weakness down the middle.

Sergei shouldn't be bringing the puck back towards his net either, give the kid a break.

Draws two penalities in the third. Whomever blames Maxwell for that goal should give their head a shake, Kostitsyn gives it up easier than a cheap hooker.

Maybe it's a Balej type of situation? I doubt it because of the lack of centres the Habs have in the system, but you never know.

OK, I was wrong (Sergei did F' up more than Maxwell) but at the same time, Maxwell almost collided with him on that play.

Hoto, Chipchura is healthy, he played yesterday for the Dogs.

Good God, Chipchura has 1 game in the last month. Let the guy get his conditioning back. I'm sure he'll be up sooner rather than late.

Maxwell isn't hurting us is he? So let him get a taste of the NHL, so he knows how hard he needs to work to be a good player here. Just like Chipchura had in the past. If Chipchura comes back up, he's either staying permanently or will move on.

I like the guy, but I was wondering the same thing. At least now he has a bit of NHL experience, which can never hurt.

The 2nd goal was more SK than anything else, but i do agree that its very puzzling to see Maxwell still up with the big club now that Chipchura is healthy.

Based on a few comments that have been made by the RDS team, it would see that Carbo (and Gainey?) are huge Maxwell fans. I wonder if Guy sees a bit of himself in Ben?

Let me guess, this is a reaction after the second goal score by FLO when he left the puck (inthe slot no less) to Sergei. Yes it was a glaring mistake, but #80 didn't play much the whole game. I think Carbonneau is using him well.

And against Pittsburgh I thought he was one of our best forwards, if you don't believe me watch the game again and focus only on him, you will see.

It's likely because Koivu is close to being ready so there is no point in sending Maxwell down to call up Chipchura for two-three games only to send him right back down.

We won tonight. Oh well if he didn't have a great game.
