The Wilds record in the Dome is just down right pitiful (3-15-4 All Time). Not to mention that Iggy, Dion and Kipper all have great records agaisnt them. Please even if Backstrom, Johnsson and Gabby were playing I would hardly blink an eyelash.
Now, I most likely really just scared Flames 4 Life.
I am shakin in my boots now. I just hope the team isn't using your line of thinking above or we are in for some long very boring hockey.
Woah, nice GDT CH. Same format I see but better organized and prettier .
As for the game: I'd be disappointed if we didn't win. We're going up against a very fragile Wild team and we're currently on a roll. No time like the present to get Kipper his 4th shutout .
I agree, perfect time for kipper to get a shutout and get that save percentage up GO FLAMES GO!
Seems like such a trap game. Backup goalie, star player out, playing back to back and now they have only 5 d-men. Going to be really dissapointed if the flames lose this one.
Don't count your chicken before they are hatched. Judging by the course of the game so far, Minnesota puts up a real challenge for us. And contrary to our pre-game expectation, they do not bury deeply in their own zone, but participate in a rather offensive led game (measured by the usual course of Wild/Flames games).
I am loving the new kids on the block, Sutter made some great accusiotions this summer and got what we needed, PLAYERS WHO HUSTLE AND CRASH THE NET. Borque and Bert are perfect examples of that, they stick through the game all the way, they might no have the pritties plays or moves but they are on the puck constantly and dump the puck on the opposition, exactly what we needed. Thank god Juice got the boot....
Go Bert for throwing the puck in front, its bound to go in eventually.
Solid. Patient and solid. Those would be the key descriptors for the first period. The Flames closed down the blue line and played very well in the neutral zone. Everyone was finishing hits, and there were more than a few. The passing all period was very crisp, especially the outlet passes which set up a few great odd man rushes. They also crashed the net and generally created no end of havok in the Wild zone. Very very good start to the game.
The penalty kill was, well flawless. Again. They did everything that I always extol, and did it very very well. They pressured the puck, made the smart plays with the sticks to block passes, and got the puck down the ice. Miikka was superb, making a few very big saves to keep the game tied at nothing at that point. Nothing to report for the power play as the Flames did not enjoy any such advantages.
Bertuzzi has been a man possessed that period. He was doing everything out there and was the reason the Flames have the lead after one. Heck that whole line of Bertuzzi-Langkow-Bourque was great. Every time they hit the ice the Wild fell back on their heels. Pardy continues to impress with his smart defensive plays. What a stick play by him to defuse a potential 2 on 1. Conroy is still playing above any expectations. He's been absolutely magnificent on our pk. I think he may be a big part of the reason for the continued success of the PK

That about sums it up I loved your comments on each period when I wasnt a member, they just explain everything!

Yeah, they definitely come in handy for someone tunning in midway through the game or something. Even if I watched the entire game, I still like to read his summary of it, lol.
