You've reached the point where you're not even worth talking to because you're contradicting yourself. You claim a goalie should be able to make any save at any time, essentially. That's impossible.
And you fail to acknowledge the breakdowns of everyone involved, from Sydor's boneheaded decision to leave the front of the net to the other wingers for getting caught up ice and not backchecking to Richards for standing in no man's land. I want to be a skater on a team you're a fan of, because I'd always be blameless.
You're usually a pretty reasonable guy, but you're so myopic in your views of Turco it's not even worth trying to have an intelligent conversation about it with you, especially right now.
I'm going to enjoy the rest of the hockey game. What do you with the rest of your night is up to you, but it won't include conversing with me.
No. That is not what I said. Turco is being paid like an elite goaltender, so I expect him to play as one. Getting beat from 40 feet regularly is not my definition of an elite goaltender. I'm not trying to bash Turco, but your insistence that his GAA and SP is all on the defense (or mostly) is bologna to me. If he cannot play well under a string-and-ducktape defense, then he might as well be labeled an "Osgood" type goaltender.
I know you've chosen to walk away from this arguement, but I think you and I know this defense is playing pretty well against this high-offensive Sharks team. I cannot expect anymore from the defense because this is as good as it might get. But Turco can play better and he should.
we need to add something there if were going to make the playoffs...
and we dont have much to offer trade wise for big names..
I'd rather do an actual upgrade instead of just a patch. If that means not making the playoffs this season, so be it. I don't want them to tank, but I don't want them needlessly throwing people away to pick up guys who aren't going to be long-term, or even medium-term solutions.
