That Modano chance from the slot set up by Lehtinen just has to go in. That was their chance.

well... I'm sure they'll get atleast 1 more chance in the 3rd. They'll have a chance to win this game yet.

And you fail to acknowledge the breakdowns of everyone involved, from Sydor's boneheaded decision to leave the front of the net to the other wingers for getting caught up ice and not backchecking to Richards for standing in no man's land. I want to be a skater on a team you're a fan of, because I'd always be blameless.

You're usually a pretty reasonable guy, but you're so myopic in your views of Turco it's not even worth trying to have an intelligent conversation about it with you, especially right now.

I'm going to enjoy the rest of the hockey game. What do you with the rest of your night is up to you, but it won't include conversing with me.
No. That is not what I said. Turco is being paid like an elite goaltender, so I expect him to play as one. Getting beat from 40 feet regularly is not my definition of an elite goaltender. I'm not trying to bash Turco, but your insistence that his GAA and SP is all on the defense (or mostly) is bologna to me. If he cannot play well under a string-and-ducktape defense, then he might as well be labeled an "Osgood" type goaltender.

I know you've chosen to walk away from this arguement, but I think you and I know this defense is playing pretty well against this high-offensive Sharks team. I cannot expect anymore from the defense because this is as good as it might get. But Turco can play better and he should.

On a side note...

does anyone think we should go for Kyle Mclaren..

We would get him cheap trade wise...his cap is irrelevant now with our space...and he is more physical and responsible than what we currently have..

i know this idea was floated here earlier in year, but the cap was too tight..

what do guys think now??

He's like a physical Sydor in the mistakes he makes. No thanks.

Now that one Turco really should have given a better effort to, though Neal can't let him get free like that in the low slot.

But Turco either bit hard on the initial shot or froze, and there was no support there to try and take Michalek out once he'd beat Neal. Icky from everyone.

I'd rather do an actual upgrade instead of just a patch. If that means not making the playoffs this season, so be it. I don't want them to tank, but I don't want them needlessly throwing people away to pick up guys who aren't going to be long-term, or even medium-term solutions.

Richards was definitely onside right there before the break.

looks like we're getting beaten by a (much) better goaltender tonight..

I remember when Marty Turco won games for our team

This team cannot get its best chances on net tonight for some reason. Every really quality chance is high or wide (save Ribeiro's shove attempt that never left the ice).

this reminds me of the games against Nashville (pretty much any one of them).

That type of defensive redundancy by Vlasic (pickle!) is exactly what the Stars have been lacking all season.

The bright spot there is Vlasic was pretty pedestrian last year after a great rookie season, and he's turned it back on again. That gives me hope for the Stars trio of miscreants this year.

.... of all the things to get through... that did?

If it goes off a Sharks' glove, is it good? Or is the rule any glove?

Yeah, that's... quite flukey.

Yes Razor, that was the generalist of general vicinities of the net.

Maybe that's the key. Try to miss the net, and a Shark will deflect it in.

Oh power play. This would be the time to stop sucking tonight. I promise, it's almost ideal.
