All the trades you propose are unnecessary for Ottawa.

They want nothing of Khabibulin. Although he has struggled of late, Auld's contract is incredible for us, and he will probably be our backup next year when Elliott is called up.

My wish is for the sens to start rebuilding. The 1st round pick and a prospect are good starts.

Unnecessary? Guess which team has the worst record in the NHL in the last 100 games.

The forward lines in Ottawa would be:
Heatley Spezza Skille
Foligno Zubov Alfredsson
Vermette Kelly Donovan
Ruutu McAmmond Winchester

The D would be

Phillips Smith Kuba
Volchenkov Sopel Lee

Send Alexandre Picard somewhere for a 3rd rounder and waive Schubert

We don't have Hedman yet. Those losses need to continue for another 48 games.

Fisher has an NTC and he's not moving.

Khabibulin will not help us rebuild. If Auld continues to play bad, we will rebuild. Neil is gone after this year.

Alex Picard has been really good, and if you really want to trade him for a third, it really says a lot about your knowledge as a Senator fan.

I hear you Senators 101 but this trade will not decrease our chances of getting Hedman.* It is a trade that will bear fruit in the future. If anything, that extra 1st rounder might allow us to jump up and get Hedman or Tavares.

There's something to be said about being the author of more than 50% of the posts in your own thread, I guess.

I'm touched. Me, personally, I like well-thought out, rational trade proposals that address needs for both teams and don't involve too many players just for the sake of adding them, since trades involving more than 2-3 players very seldom happen.

I guess at least you've started considering the cap in your trade proposals, unlike in the thread you had deleted earlier today.

Be that as it may, your trades are awful.

Picard has been excellent at times this year and not so hot at other times but what do you expect hes 23 years old, very few defensemen can preform well at that age. Plus if you like stats he is our second highest point producer on defense and hes one of only 2 sens defensemen with a + rating.

PS stop making trade proposals PLEASE!

Sopel is a healthy scratch. Khabibulin is on the trading block. Fisher used to play with Havlat and they are looking for a center to play with him. Neil is a tough sun of a gun. Me, I think Chicago becomes a cup contender when they add these heart and soul guys for a press box sitter and a redundant goalie. The sens get a a third 1st round pick in one of the deepest drafts ever. Chicago needs cap room to make an additional trade at the deadline and they get that. What is not thought out?

Why? Why in the world would we do that. Fisher's contract sucks, but he's worth more than a goalie we don't need any longer, a D-man who's all used up, a mid-level prospect and a late first.

Garbage.

I'd rather keep Fisher, Neil etc.

My guess is that Neil in himself will fetch a nice bounty soon enough. When Fisher's NMC shifts to a limited NTC, then we'll field offers (or not). Auld is just fine right now, and will help the transition of Elliot into the NHL.

Bah...just nothing about this trade is any good at all.

Picard for a 3rd? You must be mad. Murray would have to be mighty dumb to demand this guy as part of the Mez trade, then turn around and give him away.

EDIT:
Oh man, I missed that we had to pay a 2nd round pick (which will really be a late first) for making Chicago a tank in the West.

Still no reason to make a bad trade.

Is Fisher, a goon, and Auld worth a 1st rd pick AND a prospect... As for Khabby, why bother trading for him when you can get him through free agency.
