Can Price beat Sawchuck's record?

Carey had his 15th win of the season last night, but missed almost three weeks of play.

With 47 games left, do you think its possible for Price to get 25 more wins and beat Fleury's record for youngest goalie ever to get 40 wins, which he did at the age of 23?

Although, he could still beat the record next year as his birthday is in August, he will be 21 at the end of this season, and 22 at the end of next season.

Ooops. correction, Sawchuck was the youngest to do it, at 22 years old. Carey couldn't do it next season, because Sawchuk was born in December and Carey in August.

Well yeah, let's say he plays 40 more games, 25 wins is definitely possible.

Assuming he stays healthy the rest of the year then ya, I think he's got a pretty good shot.

Health permitting, he should have a shot.

Man, he's looking strong right now.

he SHOULD beat the record with his pace, but he would need carbo to stop playing halak as much, price would need to play 35-40 games out of the 47 that are left to have a chance

if not, next season he should beat in

No, not because I don't want him to, but do you really see Price playing 40 of the next 47 games?

even if price only plays in 35 games he has a decent shot.

So far:
24GP 15wins = .625 winning%

Projected:
35GP remaining @ .625 winning % = 22 wins

This gives him 37 wins at the current pace. I think his winning % will only go up from here and 40 wins is a definite possibility.

Actually, with his present pace, which is 2 wins every 3 games, he would only need 36 games to reach it. Give him 38 games and he will make it. That would leave 8-10 games for Halak. And Carbo now seems intent on playing Price more often than not, as this is the first time he goals on two consecutive nights this season.

We still have 5 games to play till mid-season, and he has 16 wins. If he gets 3-4 wins in those games, he would be at half the mark at half the season, yet missing almost 3 weeks of play. I had doubts when he got injured, still if he doesn't get another injury, its still very possible.

Read my main post. I made the correction, its Sawchuk who has the record, only becaues his 22nd birthday was in December, and Fleury's was in November.

If Price wants to beat the record, he'll have to do it this season, because he'll be 22 in August.

So how many wins does he need in how many games?

Fleury>>Price

I mean look at the All-Star vote and the Penguins game for proof. Not even close IMHO.
