Sounds like he actually thinks we are an elite team. Which would be close to true. We're contenders at bare minimum.
no question giroux will be a top 6 winger, replaces lupul next year when that crazy cap hit comes in, the kid is creative
with all the injuries the flyers are winning with 2 NHL lines and 2 AHL lines, pretty impressive really. There callups haven't looked out of place at all, and until giroux it wasn't even their top tier talent. they all are responsible, gritty, and with the exception of gratton, some speed. A lot of solid depth guys down on the farm.
He was removed after the first period. Apparently, he has back spasms and it is something that has affected him earlier this season.
ahhh that ****ing sucks, does that mean they traded for Labarbera knowing Stanford would be out for a long time. When is Luongo coming back btw. Good thing they have Corey Schneider.

That was discussed a few minutes ago. The trade was announced after the game started so I would imagine there was knowledge that Sanford wasn't fully healthy. Earlier, when the trade was first announced, someone on Van radio said the trade was made so Schneider can go back to the minors and get some work.
Vancouver radio said that Sanford tweaked an injury today at the morning skate but felt he could play. The injury is a groin (no mention of back spasms).
Luongo:

Canucks No. 1 goalie Roberto Luongo, out since Nov. 22 because of a groin injury, went for a 10-minute skate with injured center Ryan Johnson on Tuesday. Luongo, who took no shots, isn’t expected back before next month’s All-Star break.

UPDATE: Vancouver radio just reported that Gagne could play in the next game. He is day-to-day. The host said "that comes from the horse's mouth" and followed it by saying "that is good news for Flyers' fans." So, I assume that means Gagne said it.
1:23 a.m.
Simon Gagne gave the following update on his condition following the Flyers' 3-2 win in Vancouver on Tuesday night. He was asked if he would be able to play in the team's next game, on Friday night in Anaheim.
"We will see," he said. "Hopefully tomorrow it will be a little bit better. Jimmy [McCrossin] and the doctor think that it may be somthing that gets better every day. Right now it is a little bit sore. I think tomorrow it should feel a little bit better. We will see what is going to happen for the next couple of days."
Im glad Gags might be back. I kinda liked how Giroux is playing though. He's starting to get the hang of the big league and hopefully tonight's point is a start of something good =). Him playing with Merto and Asham is a horrible choice I think...
Watching the highlights, can someone teach Hartnell some new moves? He's been getting breakaways all alone but always tries the backhand shovel, too predictable...

Yea he should just shoot, his one on one moves are brutal.
So what lines do you roll with? I think
Giroux - Richards - Gagne (Grog)
Hartnell - Carter - Lupul
What happens with Briere? Third line with Kalinski and Knuble? Drop Lupul and put him on the wing with Harts and Carter?
Well it would be Gagne (left wing) - Richards - Giroux (right wing)
But I find the the nickname Grog-Line funny.
I got another nickname for the Olde City Line: The Hydrochloride line (HCl). Especially since they are highly corrosive to goaltenders

First and third or second period? (don't really care, just want to point out that the description is not sufficient )
Agreed on Giroux and Knuble.
Also, it's plethora
Did you at least jump up after the game and scream "I love everybody!" ?

As some of you will remember I was writing earlier about my boys being in a tournament...finals being tonight...and having tickets to my first Flyers game.
My boys won the semi-final at noon today 2-0 with an ENG. The game winning goal was scored with one minute left in the 1st period. I wipped back home to swap cars and headed back to the tournament site for the final. We scored 4 goals in the first period chasing their starter. Final score was 5-2...first tournament win of the season for my Peewee team. This game ended at 6:30pm...I was out of the dressing room by 6:45pm (after some bubbly) in my Flyers gear and at made it to the game just after the Powe penalty in the first.
I'm sitting down with my buddy (canucks fan) for no more than 45 seconds when the nucks score. My friend starts to give me ****...Hartnell scores before he's done.
As you all know the Flyers won and I got to rub it in to all the lol-sors on my to the car. Well, that's not really fair...I just wore the colours proudly on my way.
