Yep, this pretty much sums up my feelings of this trade. I dont think Ive ever seen people getting so happy when their GM trades a player away basically for free. It just shows what kind of a goalie LaBarbera is.

first, Sundin... then they take LaBarbera...

Clearly the Canucks are making a run at the cup.

Don't worry... let the Vanny faithful talk this trade up all they want.

Like I said...the Kings might have taken Cloutier off their hands, but it appears LA's gonna get the last laugh.

Good luck Nux fans.

He'll play better for his hometown team and we don't ever have to see him tend goal for us again. It's a win-win.

Luongo is out and their backup Sanford just hurt his groin. Karma is a boomerang.

He's getting revenge on Vancouver for the Cloutier trade. Its a trojan horse. Barbs will implode the Canucks out of the playoff picture.

I'm going to Vancouver tomorrow, if Labs needs a ride to LAX I'll pick him up for free. I'll carry his bag, rub his feet, whatever needs to be done so that I don't have to watch him disgrace the butterfly style in a Kings uniform again. Shame on the scouts who thought the Kings needed to hold onto this clown for an entire season, they clearly do not know what they are looking at. If they are still with the Kings bump them down to ticket reps immediately.

Gauthier sucks! It is because of him we are not in the 8th spot. I think his turnovers have cost us at least 4 points. Rabble! Rabble!

ftfy...

GREAT NEWS!!! A 7th round scrub that may go nowhere is fine with me.

I'll take this as DL's personal Christmas present to me.

Thanks DL!! (& Vancouver... maybe a little Cloutier guilt? thanks to you too!)

...maybe check "goals for" and PP production? The D is playing quite well right now (what did I just type into my keyboard?).

I don't think JLB has been viewed as a scapegoat, he just flat out sucks. We've seen the "best" he has to offer L.A. Time to see what anyone else can do.

Excellent point. And, he did not pressure Blake to waive his no trade contract while sending Demitra to play with his friend Gaborik. Dl impresses me as a class act.

best part about this is the message it sends to two players; Bernier and Zatkoff.

Bernier, you're now the 20 year old #1 in Manchester. Prove to us you are progressing and have what it takes to carry a team on your back, when the team needs a solid leader in goal. Be that guy in the A that the Kings will need you to be at times in the NHL.

Zatkoff. You've been promoted. Keep it going. See if you can usurp the guy everyone's been talking about for over two years.

It also makes it clear that we are taking a goaltender with one of out top picks this upcoming draft. DL has fixed the blue line, not much argument here with Hickey, Voinov and Tuebert waiting in the wings. We do need a forward, but that may be coming through a UFA. Organizational goaltending depth is now our biggest need, both to fill slots in the minors and to keep Quick and Bernier on their toes to let them know nothing is going to be handed to them.

I dont agree. The Kings should not use a high pick for a goaltender. We have to give Quick or Bernier a chanche to be the #1 guy. We have much more glaring needs at forward position (mainly at center), I think we should draft atleast two forwards with our 3 first picks (one first rounder, two second rounders). Besides we have Linden Rowat who is playing in WHL at the moment. Now with LaBarbera gone, Rowat can fill his spot on the "goaltending tree".

WOOOOOOOOO Party time, Labs "Beachball 2" is gone!!!!!!!!!! Wonder if this will be a sign to stop this yo-yo season and actually put together a solid winning streak... or will it still be a matter of what Kings team will show up night after night

Give Quick-Bernier a shot until Ersberg is ready to come back... hey, we're close to a good team, but were still rebuilding
