04/05 Habs lineup

Since I haven't seen this thread (sorry if I am indeed repeating it): how do you think Canadiens' lineup will be next season?

That is pretty accurate. The ??? could be a goon or a rookie (Plekanec?).

In any event, I am firmly believe that there will be no NHL next season. So all this speculation is fluff. But that is just my take. I am focusing on the Bulldogs these days.

Zed-Koivu-Kovalev
Hossa/Perez/Pleks-Ribs-Ryder
Bulis-Bonk-Sunny
Dagenais-Begin-Ward

Souray-Brisebois
Markov-Komi
Hainsey/Boullion/Beauchemin-Rivet

Theo
Huet

If Kovalev doesn't sign I would expect more playing time for the young kids, I don't want a UFA at this point.

I would expect at least 2 rookies to be in our lineup this year. 2nd line LW and somewhere on the bottom line, wherever needed. I also believe Ward will be given a shot at a scoring role sometime during the season (for an extended time, not just 1 shift or 1 game).

I don't think we'll see a rookie on the second line LW, Dagenais is gonna be there at the start of the season and I can't say I'm against it.

Well it all depends, if Kovy isn't signed I see either Ryder or Hossa getting a chance to play on the first line. Hossa's got a lot to live up too though.

Dagenais would ruin that line.

I think Dagenais will be trade or un-protect at NHL waiver-draft....

The Habs need to bring the kids in...like Hossa-Hainsey-Higgins-Plekanec-Perezhogin-etc.....maybe not all of them but at least some....

Well here is what I would see assuming no signing of a UFA. With the signing of a Kovalev the things would need to be shuffled arround...

Zednik Koivu (Hossa or Dagenais or Kostsitsyn or Perezhogin or UFA)
Bulis Ribeiro Ryder
Higgins Bonk Ward
Begin Plekanek Sundstrum

Hainsey, Rivet
Souray, Brisebois
Markov, Komisarek
Bouillon

Huet, Theodore

I don't think Dagenais would ever be on the first, and I don't see why Bulis wouldn't be on the checking line. But we've all got our oppinions

That's pretty much how I see things too.

Swap Rivet and Breezy and you've got the way I would do it. I can't imagine using Rivet as a top-2 defenseman, but I can see Breezy playing that role. Hopefully Komi has a fantastic year, and he can step onto the top line by the end of the season.

Pairing Hainsey and Breezy scares me a little too, I'd rather have a stay at home type with HH.

Here's mine:

Zednick-Koivu-Hossa
Higgins/Perez-Ribs*-Ryder
Bulis-Bonk-Sunny
Goon-Béjin-Ward/gonn#2

Markov-Komi
Hainsey*-Souray
Bouillon-Rivet

I'd really like it if Gainey could find a way to get rid of Brisebois for a pick so that Hainsey could finally have a chance with the club. I would also like Sunny to leave(i dont know why Gainey signed him in the first place ) so that Higgins could have a permanint job for the year. As for Hossa, i think that if anyone on the team can show him how to work hard it's Koivu, Hossa has immense talent but no hearth, it'a a do or die year for him, and finally that's an opinion, i think that it would be great if Ribeiro was traded for a big center, ala Lindros or Jessiman or Primeau, but that's just me.

Thanks to you if you read all one of my rare post

my opinion is that guainey wont sign any impact ufa
the result its a line-up who look like this for now

zednik koivu ---
ryder rideiro dagenais
bulis bonk sundstrom
begin --- ward

mArkov rivet
brisebois Komisarek
Souray Bouillon

whit hossa and hainsey who have to clear waiver to return i ahl they will probably be in the line up next years
that give us 0ne spot for other prospect

for me line-up will look like this in the begining of the year

zednik koivu Hossa
ryder rideiro dagenais
bulis bonk sundstrom
begin pleclanek ward

mArkov rivet
brisebois Komisarek
Souray Bouillon/hainsey

Bouillon and hainsey will fight again for the regular spot and bouillon will got it but hainsey will play a lot of game because a injury to Souray (again)

pleclanek will see ice time on the second and the first line im remplacement of hossa and dagenais because the wont perform well at the begining of the year

higgins will show up a couple of game and maybe took the place of a injury player of the place of dagenais

But my Question his will Bg an Cj make play like 8 player not really experienced at the same time
i think yes
