CHL players need to be 20 years old in order to play in the AHL. He is going to Hamilton next year.

Right now he is playing for the Belleville Bulls in the OHL.

I was never too high on this kid when he was all about offense and not focusing enough on the play in his own end. But now that he's put a lot of effort into his defensive play while still being an offensive force, I've gotten a lot more excited about Subban.

He has really impressed me with his play at the WJC so far. I love that he can create plays while going full tilt. His willingness to go to the net is another risk/reward with him, but i think the good will hopefully outweigh any bad.

I don't think he can make it next year.
Markov Komi
Hammer Gorges
Bouillon ______ (O'Byrne gets another chance?)
______ (a bit of a waste to put him here)

If he does make it, I hope gorges plays with bouillon so Hammer can cover for Subban. Every rookie should be played with Roman. He's just such a calming influence for them. plus.... he is willing to smash.

he reminds me of a smaller jovanovski.

He's tough, wreckless, emotional, wears his heart on his sleeve, and is a risk taker.

Sounds like Jovanovski to me.

For me its still a tossup between Hedman and JT for #1 overall. I know JT has been more than impressive so far but, like you said, Hedman is a BEAST... Forbserg said he has Lidstrom potential, just the full package.

PK Subban = Mike Green on steroids!

Timmins hit a 550ft homerun!

We can all agree that PK is having a great tourney and is a high end Habs prospect but to be fair to the Cdn team, Tom Hickey is the best d-man on this squad.

He'll definitely need 1 yr in the AHL to learn how to be a pro. With Emelin possibly coming here next yr (we can only pray) I doubt there will be any place for him on the Habs.

huh? No, he's not. If there's 1 defensmen that stands out of the lot based on overall play it's Pietrangelo, even if he's not putting big numbers, he's always well positioned, never gets caught off-guard and succesfully makes those little important plays that go unoticed, Hickey hasn't deliverd like he can.

P.K. is an absolute GEM!

After watching the WJC so far, Subban stood out big time among the best U20defensemen of the world, he is quite dominant in every areas of the game, especially his transition game.. He combines incredible speed\skating and stickhandling skills, has a great vision, top notch offensive flair, understand the game pretty well, his 2-way game is pretty good, always takes the good decisions, rarely took out of position.. I didnt see any real weakness in his game, he is very solid one on one, wins his battles for the puck, plays with grit and intensity every shifts, never gets rid of the puck easily, will always find an option and the puck will find his teammates about every times..

I really feel we have a special talent in P.K. Subban, his offensive skills are sicks, he plays with passion and poise, is an entertaining presence for his teammates, the kind of guys you need to keep your bench alive..

PK PK PK!!!

Pretty much all of my buds are leaf fans and they usually take every opportunity to insult the Habs. They all loove this kid, and envy us for having him.

He reminds me of Ovechkin- Not in that he is too similar in styles or skills or even position obviously- but when he gets a head of steam and takes the puck up the ice, there is nothing more exciting...

He's not perfect but he's a hell of alot of fun to watch. He plays with a ridiculous amount of confidence...

Probably played his worst game tonight but people are exaggerating his deficiencies so much it's funny. His biggest mistake....he corrected it himself. Then he was on the ice for 2 goals but because Pietrangelo wasn't able to do his job, and then 'cause Goloubef was so much overpowered and 'cause Tokarski wasn't doing his job once again.

Worst game to date, but fine game anyway. 2 great chances in OT for him that could've made him the hero.

Has to outscore Karlsson and Shattenkirk in the last game in order to get the D of tourney honor. It's going to be close.

Honestly, as the best 2-way d-man of the tournament, I would already give the trophy to Karlsson. He's been dangerous offensively and better defensively than Subban for the few games I saw.

Leafs' fan here.
What a great and astute pick by Gainey.

Unbelievable prospect. I can't wait to see him in the NHL, even if it's with the Habs.

Canucks fan who was popping in to say exactly this. Damn you, Hackett.

After Subban made a couple mistakes with his silly back passes, he shifted into ed jovanovski mode and took over the game when he was on the ice. Unreal.
