Right now, I'd give a slight edge to Eriksson, although Franzen's missed a few games for Detroit.

But Eriksson's got a nearly 30% shooting percetange going, and hit the 20 goal plateau tonight vs. New Jersey. Been a very pleasant surprise for Stars fans that have been hit repeatedly with bad news.

I'll stick with Franzen but Eriksson is proving to be an excellent player this year.

I'd still go with Franzen. But who knows, Eriksson is younger and if he keeps develop like he has this year it wont take long before he is ahead

Now, probably Franzen but in the future easily Eriksson.
But I voted for Eriksson since that's who I'd want.

Eriksson needs to get some playoff games to be able to say he's better than Franzen.

That's what really stands out about Eriksson. A 30% clip is impossible to maintain. There's usually only a handful of NHLers up over 20% by season's end and over the last few years the only guy that has had multiple seasons up over 20% has been Tanguay.

No slight against Franzen, but I thought this poll would be a lot closer.

Ribeiro topped 25% last year, no surprise he's down to around 9 this season. Eriksson will likely finish at over 20%, easily hitting 30-35 goals by the end of the year. He has shone in a position where Dallas is quite weak.

And it probably should be. The difference being that Eriksson's 20 goal season quietly snuck in there and Franzen's offensive explosion for the past 9 months has been in the spotlight to say the very least.

I have them both on my fantasy team and I LOVE both of them... but I think Franzen is a little better

I don't know if Modo is with me on this one but Eriksson is seriously turning into the new Jere Lehtinen, obviously not as good yet but he plays a great two way game and has probably been the Stars best player over the year.

I humbly beg to object.

Loui's two-way game is good, but it's far from as good as Mule's.

His nose for the net is really good but not as good when it comes to dig pucks out of the corners, setup others or score from the points.

And that's the difference between them.

I adore Loui as one of the best hometown boys we have (and Alfie named his latest kid after him), I cherish every point he makes.

But he's no Mule yet.

I'll reserve judgment until he lands a Selke nomination, which would get him at least in the ballpark of Lehtinen's 3 wins.

Really? Damn that's cool, lol

I am sure that very solid arguments can be made for either side, and I've no problem with Franzen getting the edge here.....I'm just thinking the lopsided margin is unfortunately a result of not nearly enough exposure for Eriksson.
