He could end up as the next Bure...or the next Chistov. Typical HF mentality "let's give up key pieces of our team for a player that might one day become a key piece"

Yes but, is there ANY logical reason why Filatov wouldn't be Pittsburgh's best top six winger for the rest of THIS season right away? He doesn't have to climb over the likes of Nash, Huselius and Voracek in Pittsburgh.

It is IDIOTIC for Pens fans to jump on any trades giving away reasonably priced young talent in bulk for any star who will be expecting prime compensation. Doesn't matter if it is Kovalchuk, Nash, Gaborik or something even more silly.

We are THIN talent wise beyond our obvious stars and the blueline. The only smart way to go is to do the exact opposite of this thread and trade one name (like Staal or Whitney) for (1,2,3) several wing prospects to become DEEPER. No matter if we give up the best player in the deal. As long as it addresses needs on our team, we will be better for it.

This trade makes us a slightly improved Ottawa.
I never advocated the Nash deal, so you are mistaken.

ROFL wow, yeah I'm sure nothing short of Ovechkin would be a good enough return for that package - if that.
