Quick Question

Whoever started screaming "STARS" during the national anthem?
My 1st stars game was like 4 years ago and I always wondered why everyone screamed it...

That's been going on for at least a decade and probably in the neighborhood of 15 years now. I doubt anyone remembers who started it.

I did. It's the only word in the Anthem that I know.

I still have the '99 Cup win on VHS, and that game was in Buffalo; they did the opposite, booing the word "stars" during the anthem. My guess would be that it was in response to Dallas fans yelling it.

I love that the fans do that; when I went down to Dallas to see a game, I just had to join in, lol.

Seriously though, they've been doing it since the first season. I have never once though joined in.

There used to be a 'jussi' call for the words "you see."

I lived in Atlanta for a while and they scream "knights" at "all through the night".
Old minor league team there.

Houston basketball fans scream "Rockets" during the "rockets red glare" part.

If fans can find a place to yell and make it fit, they'll do it.

I love screaming Stars during the anthem.

Definitely has been going on before then. I know we were doing it in 1998.

Pretty sure tons of people would lay claim to starting it if given the chance.

I love it, especially when going on the road (have done it at all 5 games I've gone to). Having everyone stare at you is awesome.

Yeah, I did that in Nashville, they were not amused.

I'd be interested in knowing if the chant ever surfaced in Bloomington. Toward the end they had come out with the modern "Stars" logo (more or less) so the abbreviated form was already in use before the move...
