hannan to take blake's place

our hopes of souray playing in blake's abscence were just ruined, scott hannan will replace him at the world cup, too bad, because i think that souray was by far the most deserving

Goooooooooooggles!

I would have taken Bowmeester or Auccoin ahead of Souray. Probably Hannan too, and maybe even (ulp) McCabe.

Scott Hannan had a great season so he deserves to be there IMO. Souray had a good year too, but don't forget that he wasn't the same after the all-star game break.

I'd hagve chosen Bouwmeester, then Hannan, then Souray.

Hannan likely got picked because of all those great one-on-one battles he had in the playoffs against all those top forwards. Bouwmeester was likely a close second with his great skating abilities and his solid performances at the last two World Championships, but he brings less of an edge that Hannan does. Souray's end of the season was anything but memorable, his playoffs were not very good, and he never regained that form that we all saw and admired for the first half of the season. Given that, I don't think he was ever in the running for this spot.

I have 2 questions...

Will they play on the internationnal ice surface size or nhl size?

Who will replace Blake on the PP?

I don't know the answer to the second question, but for the first, they play on NHL size, because they won't destroy the arena's for this tournement, the players will just have to adapt (if they don't play in North America)

Redden will probably replace Blake on the PP. Pronger and Niedermayer were already shoe-ins for the PP, and now Redden will probably take Blakes spot.

Souray more deserving...riiiight. I think he has his health to worry about anyway. I don't have a problem with Hannan's selection although I probably would have picked Aucoin or JayBo over him.

I have no problem with Hannan being selected.

I would of had no problem with any of the other names mentioned.

I would of liked to see Mike Rathje get a looksee.
Big guy to handle the front of the net and play a real strong D inside his own zone.

We have enough guys who can produce the offense.
