Not physically intimidating, but I like it.

Yeah. It was a nice one right of the face-off. That's what Ossi needs to do more often-- shoot the puck quickly and not hold on to it.

Was a beaut too, I thought it was Giroux's goal but that was just a beautiful clanger off the post. Low, hard, and in the corner. Can't draw up a better soccer shot, really.

If Giguere had an ounce of athleticism, it should've been an easy save. It was a well-placed shot, but horrible goaltending at the same time.

I for one hope that Ossi stays with us for awhile. For years we've been *****ing about our defense and stablity back there and injuries, etc. Ossi brings that with Timmonen of course.Id be fine if he stays and we bring up some of the forwards slower if that makes sense. Just my .02.

ossi will be fairly cheap contract wise(he won't get jones money) and physical, and it's finishpalooza on the flyers, so he probably likes it here

I've been on the hunt to find Ossi's goal from the other night on youtube but, no luck. Has anyone else been lucky?

LoL, I did find this video of Ossi hitting a ref.

Article about the Flyer's Finnish contingent

Quote:
“It’s nice to have a few guys from Finland on the team,” Kukkonen said. “You can speak your own language, and it’s especially nice for me and Ossi because we’re rooming together on the road.

“It’s a lot of fun. Ossi is the funniest by far. I don’t think he plans what’s going to happen, it just happens. He says some funny stuff.”

That’s true. Vaananen has that high school class clown mug that can evoke laughter just by making an oddball face.

Vaananen signed as a free agent in the offseason after taking a one-year break from his NHL career (Phoenix, Colorado) to play in Europe. He’s played probably beyond everyone’s expectations.

It didn’t take him long to fit right in. Having some Finns around certainly helped.
“We do talk Finnish once in a while with each other but, then again, we have to mostly keep it in English because of the other guys on the team,” Vaananen said. “But for sure, it’s nice to have some countrymen on the team.”

This guy cannot get enough praise.

I said earlier that he was the 2nd best dman on the team. A lot of nights he's better than Kimo.

FA signing of the year (behind hossa i guess)
