Maybe. He is old and may not be able to play at the level we need to of him because the season is already 1/2 completed. Everyone is in mud season form. Moreover, where do you place him. I would focus on shoring up our d. Breisbois and Bouillion wont cut it in the playoffs. Breisbois should be put back as our number #7. Th two players, in an ideal world would be J-Bo and Robyn Reghr. Bouwmeester may cost as a bit to get him. The only way that I would do so is if he signs a long term deal with the club. Regher may cost a bit less but there may be too many changes on the team to have these acquisitions be effective come the playoffs.

Shanahan could definitely help on the PP and could score 10 to 15 for the rest of the season and help in the playoffs. This team is too soft and lacks leadership...there is no way this team is a Stanley cup contender even with adding a top 4 d-men.

It is pretty obvious that Montreal does'nt or havent missed much of Higgins.
Kostopoulos is trying but does'nt bring much, other than having is ass kicked all the times! i would rather have Shanahan!

This is a tough one to call. Shananhan for half a season might be perfect for a cup run. He is tough as nails and a Shanny Koivu Kovy line might be unstoppable. Shanny is not afraid of parking himself in front of the net.

The guy's old, slow, won't help with the chemistry, won't help on the ice, won't provide that much leadership considering his flaws, we just don't need him. /thread
