Because... it was a systemic breakdown that started with poor neutral zone defense, had a middle of atrocious defensive coverage and ended with the lack of a save?

Turco played a large part, no doubt. But they were both Grade A quality chances, and that means other people didn't do their jobs too.

If we expect Turco to do his job well, oh, 92 percent of the time, then we need to expect the same from the other people involved in keeping pucks out of the net.

I have no idea how you could look at this PP and conclude that Vishnevskiy should sit in the press box during his call-up.

I would definitely not call either of those grade A chances. Especially the first one.

Basically a 1 on 1 with a goalie is considered a grade A chance. The 1st one was just a good shot.

We'd need to go back to Turco's first year as a starter for that to be realistic...

A shot from the bottom of the circle through a screen, moving forward with speed, is a Grade A chance. A guy busting through the defense coming down the center of the slot is a Grade A chance.

Or last year's playoffs.

Go with 90 percent then. The point still stands.

In my book an odd man rush or a breakaway is a grade A chance

In my book, the defense allowing the block-footed Souray to gain any type of speed through the neutral zone represents a huge error, regardless of how awful Turco looked on that play as well.
