Sad but true. I'm a little more fond of Bell than you, but I think both are showing they belong in the AHL.

I feel the Fire Hartsburg bandwagon filling up.
I questioned the Schubert over Bell decision from the beginning.
We all questioned the Fisher on the PP point.
Many of us questioned starting Swiss Cheese.

If we can see it, why can't the coach. He is horrible. Laviolette would be nice... never thought of him. Burns, Nolan, Quinn or Laviolette

Seriously, with all the good stuff that was on TV some people actually watched this trash between arguably the two worst teams in the Eastern conferece?

Well, the game was a let down in general, but I got to dine with the General and his family (in the intro) and Brian Burke (well, he's famous >_>). And I was on TV, the red blur between the two benches. As for hockey, I think it's clear Tavares to Ottawa E5.

From what I saw of Tavares (#19) tonight, I'm not sure we want him, he sure looked like another Spezza out there....

Its going to be a tough pick for the team that gets the #1 pick, Tavares is a great player, but 6 '6 offensive dman do not come around often. In a sense I would almost rather end up with the #2 pick just because you may always be second guessing yourself on whether you picked the right player.

But depending on what team gets the 1st, they might take Hedman.

1st overall would guarantee us the player we want.

But if we were to go for the whole "not second guessing" thing, I'd think the 3rd overall would be best for that. Hedman and Tavares are supposed to franchise players, so they will be expected to play great out of the gate. A guy taken 3rd overall won't have the same sort of spot-light, but will obviously still have some pressure to play deserving of his drafting position.

Hedman. If this tournament is an example of how he usually plays, I would take him over Tavares for Ottawa.

There were glimpses of the old Senators team (you know the team that went to the Finals) in this game but other times Ottawa was a playing flat out ugly hockey. The defense needs huge shake-up and Ottawa needs much better offensive put from the D than just ~50 points through the current season. A puck moving d-man would be a good start. But I honestly think the Senators need to change the system of play that they are currently using. You can't be defensively and offensively sloppy and expect to win games. They have to play a much more energetic, speedy game and still play a conservative hockey. Spezza made some horrendous plays with the puck and when he had that chance to bury the puck all alone against Toskala, you knew his confidence has been shot when he waited for Toskala to regain his position.

I expect a much better Ottawa team after the all-star break.

To all NBA fans who are also Sens fans, does anyone else see the resemblance between this team and Dallas Mvericks? Got the Finals, lost in the 1st round next season..

Yeah, I was a big Mavs fan untill they choked in the finals after being up 2-0. Couldn't bear to follow them anymore. Though, I still follow Devin Harris, plus he plays with my all time favorite player, Vince Carter.

Me too, but enough to make the playoffs is the question. I know what you mean by glimpses of the old Sens but the main problem of this team is to be able to play well for 60 mins and as a team. They seem to score a goal and think it will be enough to win the game. The Sens are in trouble and still don't play in desperation like every goal could be crucial. Anyway, we'll see but i'm not expecting too much out of this season. But i want them to be back for real next year.
