I really like scoring goals, and did it a lot in the AHL. Hopefully, I can continue this little hot streak I have going for me. I also happen to closely resemble a childhood-favorite chocolate snack cracker, shaped like little bears.
If Sather had a brain he would trade Betts now. He isn't going to resign him because Anisimov needs a roster spot. Betts probably has a little value now to teams who lack defensive play from their forwards.
Betts has value to us. He's one of the best defensive forwards around and an ideal player to have on a shut-down line. The fact that he's expected to do that sort of job with Orr on his line is a little unfair. Anisimov can get many other roster spots, it doesn't need to be him in for Betts.
sjostrom and betts play 13 minutes a game because they are our top 2 penalty killers. our penalty kill is the only reason we have a winning record. with a **** power play and a team that struggles scoring we really dont deserve to be in the top 8 in the east.
why are we picking on sjostrom? his cap hit is what? oh, next to nothing? right.. i think we should be looking more towards those EXPECTED to produce numbers to keep us on top of the league... sjostrom is a hard working skater with an awesome defensive game, pk'er, and its a right out shame the guy cant put more goals in the back of the net. i mean who could, when you're bottlenecked with the offensive prowess of betts and orr.
is this crap serious? this constant barrage of whine posts about EVERY player is annoying.
Sjostrom has been deemed valuable for his shootout success, I guess. He is the new Hossa. No justification for the ice time, but still getting it.
Makes sense for a coach who plays to tie.

Lets put it into perspective. You could have 7 million in cap space and Artem Anisimov centering the top line or you can have Gomez.
Same goes for Drury. There is no one in the Rangers organization who is ready to center a top line so the Rangers bought two guys who were the best options available.
