No.

They won't get 130 points.

i think they're a great, great team, but not as good as their record suggests. their numbers are sparkling, but they don't really visibly dominate teams like a detroit or san jose does. they are a great team off the rush but they don't maintain puck control all over the ice the way detroit or san jose does. they give up a lot of shots (30+ per game) and i think that will eventually catch up with them. they would be a formidable opponent for any team, but they look beatable. san jose on the other hand, look like they have the puck for themselves the entire game...similar to detroit last year. right now i'd rank them 3rd in the nhl. it will be interesting to see their second half when they have teams gunning for them every night.

They'll finish firs in the east, but lose a few here and there

Well if they can continue the pace they're on, they'll finish with 136 points, which would be an NHL record.

They're the best team in the East and possibly the NHL, but they're not the best team of all-time.

I think they'll finish with around 115-120 points, winning the President's Trophy.

I think they'll win no less than 55 games, they only need to go 26-18 to do that. A good record but not unreasonable.

The loser point and the longer schedule inflates the point totals, so I wouldn't even compare that to past teams.

They seem more likely than the sharks at the moment. I voted yes.

Well they don't have to play against Detroit, just to get smashed, lose all confidence and end a hot streak so I'll say yes.

Good for the Bruins then since they beat 'em.

I said yes. Maybe they won't finish with 130 points or whatever but they'll be near the top of the league.

They may not get 130 points but they are bound for over 100 the way they are playing. They'll be no. 1 in the East and may challenge for no. 1 in the league. I voted yes, almost half the season's gone by and its not luck or fluke anymore [or I guess it never was].

No. Every team plateaus at some point during the season.

They didn't just beat them, after the first ten minutes when they realized that they could play with Detroit, they really took the game to them and, at least for that game, were definitely the better team.

That's not to say they will continue to be a better team than Detroit, but there is no doubt in my mind that they can compete with them.

I think they cool off eventually but they'll still get over 50 wins.

Depends what you mean by keep up the pace. I think they'll finish first in the East, top 3 in the League, but they won't reach 136 points which is what they're on pace for.

What he said.
Boston should finish with 110+ points, but there is no way they get to 136. I just can't see that happening.

I also don't think it's a lock they finish top in the east. It wouldn't shock me if Washington, Pittsburgh, New York or Philadelphia took over the #1 spot.

The shots in that game were 30-19 for Detroit.

I think they be around the 110 - 115 point mark. They'll cool off a little, but I don't see a prolonged slump of any kind.

They're too young, they'll crumple late in the season and in the playoffs under the pressure...

i said yes, but they wont end up with 130 points. still will prob be first in the east.

however i dont agree with the keep up with detroit and san jose.

they beat detroit 4-2 or 5-2. boston has beaten montreal comfortably once and at montreal in shootout. just beat pitt twice in a row, true they arent the same team

i think they deserve a little more respect then given. the only team boston should or could be really worried about is detroit in the playoffs seeing as they are a pretty damn good team in the playoffs, san jose chokesi n the palyoffs and so there will be pressure on them in playoffs.

team from the east is rangers to worry bout, but that cause boston lost to them, so its hard to judge.

its early tho, boston could lose 12 in a row and be in 3rd place, ill wait till playoffs roll around ha

They won't keep this pace up, but they'll still finish strong and end up with around 115 points, imo.
