Habs to play at the Big O

http://www.corussports.com/canadiens...6-1353103.html

Things are looking good, to close the centenial celebrations.. With the roof on.. Big party with perhaps 80,000 delirious Habs fans..

I hope it'll be against a real rival though.. TO, Bos ect..

So, next season? I would have to assume that it would be Toronto or Boston
My French sucks.

More like the big finale. But Dan Bigras was right anyway.

I was thinking of either going to a playoff game or to the draft and than to an all inclusive vacation.
November is still a long while away so I probably could make a second trip in the year now that I can pay the corporate fees for flight's.

Huh... why Dan Bigras was right? I knew this all along..

Btw, why not have it on the Dec 9?? instead of Nov 28..

Game's lineup:

Tanguay - Koivu - D'Agostini
Pacioretty - Plek - Kovalev
AK46 - Maxwell - Sk74
Lats - Lapierre - Chipchura

Markov - Komi
Hamrlik - JBo
Brisebois - Weber

Price
Desjardins

Whatever date they choose, if they can pack 80 000 in that place it will be ridiculous. People are already loud as it is at the Bell Centre and that only 21,000 and change.

When the Big "O" is packed for football its already loud as it is, imagine with our hockey fans instead of football fans...insane.

Yikes, I hope we don't see this as a regular lineup.

Higgins, Halak & picks traded for Bouwmeester? Better not let Eklund see this thread.

Seeing how the max the stadium can hold is about 65, 000, I doubt they'd get 80K

for one the seats up at the top of stadium might not be used, as that is really far away. And remember the surface for baseball can probably fit like 3 or 4 NHL rinks, so their might be seats placed else where. I know they will maximize seating to maximize profits.

This type of game is about exposure in the US...the only way to generate that with a game in Montreal is to have the Habs play the Rangers? Maybe the Red Wings?

The Rangers make more sense than the Wings since they just played an outdoor game.

I dont want to stir up ****, but we are in the 100th year. It has been 99 years, if we win the cup in 2010 it would be in the 101th year meaning that we won 24 cups in the span of our first 100 years.

The 65K number I used is what they get for football, not baseball.

I think the capacity was close to 70 000 for the Grey Cup. It's going to be hard to have a lot more people than that. Yes, a hockey rink is much smaller than a football field, but they can't put temporary grandstands too close to the rink otherwise the people sitting in the actual Olympic Stadium yellow seats won't see the ice. The capacity for the Grey Cup was pretty much maxed out because they put huge temporary grandstands in the gap that used to be center field for Expos games.

Still, the Big O is unbelievably loud when packed, and to have that many people in there for a Canadiens game is going to be awesome.
