There was another quote in the original article and it's on the video on the Capitals site too from Boudreau

http://capitals.nhl.com/
Wow. What a ****ing *********. Can you honestly say sore loser? I respect Stevens a hell of a lot more for refraining from making remarks like Boudreau said. Crying publicly because you lost makes you look like a *****, so he can kiss it. I hope the boys get fired up and kick ass tonight regardless of a win or a loss. Let them know that even with several of our big guys out, we're not afraid to show spirit.

The sad thing is, I really like the Caps teams (specifically Ovechkin), but there is no way I can cheer for them with that joke on the bench.
I really liked him before that. I had a lot of respect for what he did to turn that team around last year, and I like Ovechkin as a player as well as Backstrom & Green but after reading that, I can't justify liking them as a team any more.

Haha. Lost respect for him? Not quite. Think he made himself look like a 5 year old? Yep.

The theme of this team all year, starting with the home opener, has been "No Quit" and I sure as hell don't expect them to lay down for the Capitals.

I expect Richie to have an underrated (good) game because of shadowing AO.

Hopefully Metro can get going tonight.

The thing that is most infuriating about this is during that game Brashear boarded Powe clearly in the 3rd - put his head right into the glass deliberately and all he got was 2 ****ing minutes, it was a ****ing cheap shot.

So then the Flyers go out and score two more to make the game 7 to 1 rather than 5 to 1 like it was before Brashear goes and acts like an idiot. And he has the nerve to say what goes around comes around. His moron of a player was responsible for putting his team down 5 on 3 for two minutes, potentially hurting someone and then chastises the Flyers for scoring more. ****ing little *****. Give me a break.

Excellent point, runkle. I had forgotten all about that, but you are absolutely right, now that I think of it. I specifically remember wondering why some of our big guns were out on the ice at the end of that game, and then having it occur to me that Stevens was obviously pissed off about the Brashear hit. Stevens never does that kind of stuff...never. There was one other time against Pittsburgh where we beat them 7-2 or 8-2 or something last year, and had our big guns out at the end...but it was a similar situation. A couple Penguins were taking cheap shots late in the game, so when we went to the PP, Stevens put out the top unit, and he remarked about purposely doing so because of the cheapshots when he talked to the press after the game. I really liked the way he handled it both during the game, and when he talked to the press afterwards. Looking back on the last Caps game, I'm happy with the way that was handled as well.

Boudreau is an ass bag. His crybaby antics are good for a laugh, though. Hopefully, the Flyers are able to turn in a strong effort tonight.

Well the Caps certainly don't have anything on us when it comes to injuries.

And memo to Coach Boudreau: after seeing Semin's "fight" against Staal the other night, you are the last person on Earth who should be talking smack about another team's fighter.

MSE--great as always. I think Richie proves to the world the type of captain he is, plays some phenomenal two-way hockey and enables the boys to squeak out a W.

thanks for giving me a reason for hating the Caps.

Didnt Therrien ***** about us running the score up last year too?

Its a 60 minute game *******. I pay to see my team play 60 minutes. if you suck so bad that we have to score 7 times, thats on you.

A Couple good things that can come of this game...

1.) We can get a good look at Stevens, coaching is only thing that wins this game.

2.) Thanks to Bordreau we now have a rivalry against a team that we really didnt care about.

3.) This post by MSE:

2. Suit 'em up, coach Berube.

3. Punt.

At this point, there is no guarantee that Asham is playing.
4.) It sucks outside and this is Hockey is a Beautiful thing....

It's always funny when a coach starts complaining that we destroyed his team. If you can't play the game, go home. They talk about the flyers being a classless organisation, We don't take pot shots at other teams.

No kidding. How many times has a "professional" NHL coach been so visibly distraught by something the MEDIA has said? It's the media, dummy, they say whatever will make them a buck. Grow up, act like a real coach and not a fanboy.

That Boudreau artilce suggests that Powe will be centring Gratton and Asham. If that's true, the lines won't be too bad considering who's still on the shelf.

Gagne - Richards - Knuble
Upshall - Carter - Hartnell
Sbisa - Metropolit - Nodl
Gratton - Powe - Asham

As for Boudreau, I'm curious as to whether or not he called out his own team for the 10-2 performance against Boston last season.....

I doubt it. The Capitals scored two third period power play goals in that game, but most of the players on the ice were third and fourth line players. His beef was seeing the first pp unit on the ice with 3:00 left in the game. If Powe scores a ppg like Bradley did, thats different.

3rd Period
Washington 2:03, Brooks Laich 15 (power play) (Alexander Ovechkin, Eric Fehr)
Washington 18:15, Matt Bradley 5 (power play) (Mike Green, Matt Cooke)

Hopefully your team will not perform as well as your thread starter tonight

Ovechkin was in on the 9th goal (in the third period, on the powerplay).

I'm not calling out the Caps; Boudreau didn't have to say anything, is all.

If a team is up big they should just roll 2 lines then?
