2 years in a row?

So, with the allstar game rapidly approaching, and with sakic and staz out, will the Avs once again be snubbed from the ASG?

I don't know if "snub" is the right word, but I can see them getting shut out again. Though I'm not sure the Avs have a deserving candidate on the current playing roster.

Hejduk might be picked. Smyth is a possibility too.

Brett Clark might be picked. +6, leads the league in blocked shots, 1 GWG.

the thing is, i thought each team had to have at least 1 player picked for the game, wasnt that their justification for why staz was picked last year but didnt play?

Stastny was selected before he was out. He had the appendectomy right before the all-star game. He was picked because he was having a very good season.

ok so who would you pick for this year? i dont think anyone on our team has performed to an all star quality, except for maybe stastny. Do you pick staz even though there is no way he could play, or do we get duke or smyth in there?

I'd probably pick Hejduk. He is having a pretty good year scoring goals and quite a few guys make it in on their reputations rather than the year they are currently having.

Hejduk or Smyth but not both. Wild card would be Wolski just so they can get him in the Skills comp.

I don't even care. I haven't been watching the All Star Game whether the Avs have been represented in the past or not.

Yeah, the All-Star Game is an absolute joke. The Young All-Star Game though? It has its pluses. I'll watch the ASG at times, but it's pretty meh all around. Too bad they screw up the skills competition so often too.

Hejduk is going as the lone rep from the Avs...I Kinda thought it would be Smyth.

Good for Hejduk. He deserves to be there.

Last years game was actually pretty good and I doubt it will be topped this year.

It's hard to care about a game most folks can't even find on the dial.....I'm talking about Vs. of course. Screw you NHL....couldn't you have at least signed a deal with TNT, Spike, Food Netword, Bravo or A&E...something that most of us get?

In all honesty though...I usually watched the skills competition and then went about my life for the last decade or so, so it's not that big of a deal until the playoffs role around....then I truley remember the hell that VS. means to fans of the game. /endrant

It was one of the few I've ended up watching recently. Yeah, it was surprisingly good considering the venue and all.
