Just a question. Have you ever heard of the song If I Could Fly by Joe Satriani. On youtube they have the two songs mixed together. Tell me thats not stolen. I have seen artists with the same chord progressions before, but not necessarily an entire portion of a song completely the same. Just have a look on youtube.

Let me preface by saying I don't like Coldplay. But come on, people really think they ripped off this guy? Give me a break. There's only so many notes and so many ways to put the notes together to sound good. Every once in a while you're gonna get some riffs that sound the same.

That is the reason I have not bought a new artist CD in YEARS!!!! Its almost like going to the movies -- everything is rehashed -- and I hate it

Sound the same is COMPLETELY different than EXACTLY the same. Just go on youtube and check it out.

Guns N Roses - Chinese Democracy
Doctor Hook - Greatest Hits
G.G. Allin - Banned in Boston
Alice Cooper - Along Came A Spider
The Black Crowes - Warpaint
Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy, Led Zeppelin I, II, and III
Van Halen - Fair Warning, Diver Down

That's really about it. There's been next to nothing good that's come out in quite some time. I have to admit, I'm absolutely hooked on Chinese Democracy. It's the perfect album to close the door on the AFD and UYI era of GnR.

I used to play drums. Also, are you going to Taste of Chaos? Thursday is headlining. They're my favorite band of all-time.

I bought 2 things today: an ancient Califone turntable and J Dilla's "Donuts" on vinyl. I am combining them right now and enjoying it greatly.

Down with these. Especially Wayne-everybody rags on the guy, but his voice is hip hop's equivalent to Tom Waits and the guy just drops the craziest lines. They're sayin' he's overrated crap but in their head they're hearing "Tony told us dis wurld was ow-uhz/And da Bible told us ev'ry gurl was sow-uh/Don't play in her garden and don' smell her flowuh/Call me mistah Cawwtuhr or mistah lawn mao-uh"

Play some guitar and bass although I'm not fantastic at either. My major instrument in college was clarinet although I now play the best instrument ever, the (french) horn, in a concert band. Also, piano, trumpet, sax.

While i have the sneaker pimps album, 6 underground is the only song i really like from it. Which is a problem of many 90's artists, if you've only got one good song, just release a single, maybe napster wouldn't have been so popular if you didn't have to spend 15$ to get 1 good song and lots of crap. Anyway, I don't count 6 underground as rap, it is just an electronic style song at a slower pace. (kinda like Poe- hey pretty) Unlike rap which is spoken word of repetitive nature over sampled music and riffs, also of a repetitive nature about urban subjects that strangely appeal to very white suburban youth, leading to pervasive lifestyle and language changes that are contributing to the crumbing of society as a whole. 30 seconds of a 50 cent song makes me want to kill myself.
Probably because I actually play an instrument (guitar) and write songs, and people with almost nil musical talent what so ever are making millions.

I just post here and the goalie store BB.

Dude, The Bee Gees totally kick ass. When I was back in elementary school, I used to listen to them all the time, and ordered all those "Now This is Disco" CD's. For a while there, I had the nickname Disco Queen in my house.

The Doors are my all-time favorite band. Got the entire studio recordings out in my car. Jim Morrison was so dreamy........... sigh.

As for what I've been listening to, I've been in a weird mood lately so its been all over the place. I pretty much listened to nothing but The Kings of Leon- Only by the Night last week, then it was the Deftones- White Pony and Depeche Mode- Violator, as well as Desoto Jones- Aurora (local band and I used to work with the singer) over the weekend. Since then, I've been going back and forth between TV on the Radio- Return to Cookie Mountain, Sevendust- The best of (lmao), Reggie and the Full Effect- Promotional Copy/ Songs not to get Married To, and the few songs I have of T.I.'s on my iPod (lmao even more at this one). Oh and there's that ******* Ting Tings song- That's not my Name that I keep hearing everywhere I go.
I honestly hate being in moods like this because I have no idea what to listen to half the time.

The new Metallica cd was solid in my opinion, but not spectacular....of course anything would have sounded solid after that last piece of garbage.....I got into it for a while when I bought it but not much staying power for me, I havent put it back in since

Paramore (I am addicted to Riot at the moment)
Kate Voegle
Christina Aguilera

Doubt I can say anything about yours, unless it is like Hanna Montana or the High School Musical soundtrack

As for what I am listening to at the moment:

The aforementioned Paramore, Anberlin, Christina Aguilera, Prince (always in the rotation), Dream Theater (always in the rotation), Queen, the new Extreme and Tesla albums, our own Lauren Hart and a couple others....

I go through phases, for a couple months I will listen to nothing but extreme metal, and then I will go through a pop phase
